Got big date tomorrow. Help me disguise my yucky peeling skin (from sunburn).

Earlier this week I got a touch of sunburn on the top of my shaved head. It’s begun to peel. Normally I would not care, but I’ve got a big blind date tomorrow, so I’d like to minimize it’s yucky appearance. I usually tower over most of my dates and they would never see the top of my head (unless it’s too late for them to turn back, of course – wink, wink), but this girl will come up to my eye level. If I can see it in the mirror, so can she.

In the past I’ve had okay experience using hand/body lotion on peeling skin. It masks it for maybe an hour.

And please don’t bother to suggest a hat. I figured that trick out all by myself.

I figured I’d thow it open to you Dopers for other suggestions or advice. Thanks all, in advance.

Loofah?

Small rodent?

Exfoliate gently and then moisturize like a motherfuck.

To exfoliate, use a warm washcloth and a cream cleanzer (like Noxema – cooling and soothing!) after (or during) a shower.

You’ll want a heavy-duty moisturizer to apply IMMEDIATELY after your shower. There are after-sun lotions made by Banana Boat and a few others, or you could go for something non-oily and unscented, like Nivea.

Good luck on your date!

I second all of Beadalin’s advice, and even just a washcloth would help exfoliate.
Probably you’ll still be too tall for any pate-gazing. Good luck and have fun.

Before your date, use Scotch tape to remove the peeling skin and then apply a moisturizing lotion. I’ve done this a bunch of times on my arms and shoulders and such and find it works fine. Though having never had a shaved head, I can’t guarantee how it will work for you.

I’ve used Vaseline before with good result. I had some seriously lizard looking skin this summer, and vaseline covered it for several hours. I think it was around 8 hours before the ugh started showing again.

PS: You’re tall. Just don’t bend over and nobody will notice.

Have fun!

I’ve heard Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo works pretty well, though I’ve never tried it. It’s designed to get rid of flakes, right?
