Got the Bastard!

For ten years now, Nashville has been dealing with it’s own Laci Peterson-type mystery (i.e. hot young wife [Janet March] disappears under mysterious circumstances, husband’s [Perry March] a sleazeball and primary suspect), there was an apparent break in the case a short time ago, and the police went and busted the husband (in Mexico, where he’d been living for the past few years). This was only the latest turn in the case, since he’d been locked in a bitter custody battle with his wife’s parents prior to this. More surreal, was that the only reporter the husband was willing to talk to was the one who broke the David “Stringbean” Akerman murder case. Why the hell you’d want to talk to this guy when you’re a suspect in a murder case is beyond me, but he did, repeatedly.

After the husband was arrested, things got really interesting. It wasn’t long before the police had him on tape trying to get a fellow prisoner to murder his inlaws. Then his father was arrested, and he began spilling the beans, saying that he’d help his son dispose of the body and that they were planning a hit on the inlaws. So, naturally, when the case went to trial, it was expected to be a slam dunk. And after a short, nine day trial, it was!

Sadly, however, the fucker won’t be facing the death penalty.

Wow, this is terrific news! I’d forgotten all about this case. I must have been visiting in Nashville around the time it happened because I remember reading extensive newspaper stories on the case.

The case has been, and will be, a matter of fierce debate, from the moment Janet March went missing, & will continue until her body is found, if ever.

And the children, of course, are in Hell. :frowning:

I read about this - is this the one where the father called the daughter-in-law an "uppity JAP (Jewish American Princess) and said her parents were in “the Jewish Mafia”?

Nice.
VCNJ~

Doesn’t he have a brother named ‘Mel’?

I think so.

Janet March’s parents are to be commended for their patience. There’s no way I’d wait 10 years for my kid’s killer to be brought to justice. I’d give 'em a couple of months, tops, before I took care of it myself.

I guess it’s okay to imagine doing such a thing. If you ever find yourself in a spot like that, though, don’t do it. It’s been my misfortune to know two killers pretty well. They both told me the crime was the stupidest, most costly thing they ever did. Both said they would not do it again, if given a second chance. No matter how much a person “needs killing,” you don’t need to be the killer. Please, don’t.
