Gotcha!

Yesterday, a man deliberately ignored security at Hartsfield Atlanta International airport, the worlds busiest, and managed to get the entire airport closed down for 3 hours while police searched for him and made sure he wasn’t a terrorist. Today, they caught up with him.

All it takes to be an regular asshole is to make life miserable for at least one other person. This dumbshit should be given a swift kick in the ass by each and every one of the 10,000 people he inconvenienced yesterday.

Oh, good, I am SO glad they got this guy. I was shopping at K’s Merchandise yesterday, and people were watching this on the TV display and biting their nails and wondering if it was “the next one”. Mad because people were upset and for NO REASON, other than Big Mike was late for his plane. And, why was it SOOOOO important that he not miss his flight? Guess.

A. His mother was dying.
B. His wife was having a baby.
C. He had an important business meeting that he just couldn’t miss.

Nope, it’s D–None of the above. The reason why Big Mike needed to jump the security line and singlehandedly shut down an entire major airport was because he didn’t want to miss a football game.

Oh, but, it must have been the Game of the Century, right? A once-in-a-lifetime historic matchup? Something for which he’d paid ticket scalpers roughly the price of a new car?

Nope.

College football.

Mike Lasseter, you just went on the Official DDG HeadBangers List of “People Who Are Head-Bangingly Stupid”.

Along with all the people who thought it was funny to put baby powder on a co-worker’s desk, and all the people who phoned in bomb threats to their local Sears Roebuck stores during the hours after 9/11, and all the people who, when making evening plans the week of 9/11, and someone suggested Mideastern food, said, “Ermm…let’s go somewhere else tonight”.

Schiller said it best:

I suspect any criminal prosecution of him will be pretty light, but I wonder if he will be open to civil lawsuits? He cost a lot of people a lot of money.

And he missed his flight anyway 'cause it was grounded? Bwahahaha! That’s just too precious!

They need to create a new category of federal crime for him and the baby-powder pranksters.
“What you in for?”
“14 counts of Being An Asshole. But I was framed.”

I’ve got an idea for a plea bargain arrangement. He can either:

  1. Take his chances with the Feds or

  2. He can run a gauntlet and anyone who got stranded yesterday who bothers to show up can give him a kick. Now I realize that this may not be practical, since many of the people passing through Atlanta have long since move on to distant places, but even out of 10,000 people, at least 500-600 ought to show up.

Those folks who can’t sign up should be able to use a stand-in for the kick-fest. I would volunteer. What an ass.

And what is up with this shit ** "Asked why the guards didn’t physically stop him, Collins said, “They don’t have the authority to touch any passengers. They can only sound an alert.” " ** Ain’t that just ducky, security couldn’t even grab him and hold him for the cops.

I hope they conduct multiple body cavity searches on this guy. How long would that take, though, considering that he is one HUGE asshole?

Then what the hell are those guys with m-16s doing there? As a flyer, I am fucking outraged that they didn’t shoot this guy dead the second he breached security.

How the fuck do they expect me to get back on a plane if they’re going to let every empty-headed asshole close the airport.

Update. Huh.

U.S. won’t file charges in Atlanta airport breach.

I think he already got his punishment:
Having everyone see his face (big on the article) and having everyone know his name and having the humiliation of being “that stupid asshole”. hehe

Well the stupid asshole made a public apology on the news. I don’t think this is good enough I still think everyone who had their flights delayed at that airport should get to kick him in his ass at least once. And the kickers should get to wear their choice of shoe.

[sub] Yes, I have been told I can be a vindictive bitch at times. [/sub]

A couple thoughts:

As mentioned by Manny, the thing about the ITS guards does piss me off. Why the fuck are they even there then? And BTW, where were the National Guard troops, I thought they were at every big airport? (They are even here in Albuquerque, and we are not exactly a major hub.) This lends credence to the argument for federalizing all airport security personnel.

I mean, if the private security company has a “hands off” policy, apparently mandated by airport mgmt, we might as well have a bunch of retirees out there with fucking whistles.

Granted, the dude was a fucking moron, but a part of me wants to say this was an extreme overreaction. Sadly, in light of 9/11, that part is probably no more.

Oops, I meant to say "As mentioned by Ayesha and Manny.

Actually, I think this whole thing falls under the Shits going to happen category and that you folks are getting way up tight about it.

You seem pretty confident this asshole is telling the truth, kniz. What happens when someone takes over a plane with the shiv this guy, or some other guy in similar circumstances, hid under the TCBY counter?

Sorry, but eff that. The policy should be: rush the security desk, get shot.

Until it is, the airlines can forget about earning my business from or to any airport where this happens, or on any aircraft that originated in an airport where this happens.
