Government officials and security details?

How high-ranking do you have to be in the government before you’re given a permanent security detail? Meaning: at least one person with a gun accompanies you everywhere you go outside of your house, or outside of a secure building like the Capitol, White House, etc.

Obviously Bush has one. What about Cheney? Rice? Rumsfeld?

How about the director of the CIA, whose name escapes me at the moment?

What about state governors?

Most state governors can have security details consisting of a special detachment of the state police, state troopers or a similar state law enforcement agency.
I am uncertain as to how many governors use such a detail non-stop when they’re outside of their official residence. I suspect most do.
