This year, again, Zap went to the ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America) show held by the Upper Midwest Australian Shepherd Club, up in Pine County, MN. This show happens once a year at this particular site and it’s particularly fun to show there.
Last year, she had done really well there. This year, SHE DID IT AGAIN!
My wonderfully versatile girl just amazes me. She does therapy/AAT/service dog work, agility, flyball, tracking, herding and rally-obedience… and conformation!
Anyway - there were two shows back-to-back on Saturday, and one on Sunday. The first two were judged by breeder-judges (the wins we feel are always the sweetest and by far the most rewarding to get!).
Show 1 - Zap goes (Altered) Winners Bitch - go Zap!
Show 2 - Zap goes (Altered)Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex over specials! WOO!
Show 3 - Zap goes (Altered)Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and BEST OF BREED OVER SPECIALS!
SQUEE!
Okay, so I’m happy. Sue me. We came home with wonderful prizes (a crate fan with a thermostat, a solar canopy, a set of crate pockets, and three thermal cooler bags!), way too many rosettes, and a happy girl. She just loves to show and we have a great time doing it!
I don’t have a show pup right now, but I have to admit I had a similar thrill when I went to the Rottie nationals with my mom and her pup. Her pup took second in her class one of the three days, the same day her (female) littermate took third. One of male littermates took fourth one of the three days, and her other male littermate took third the first two days and first the last day.
Everyone who was associated with that litter was just overjoyed. But your prizes are cooler than the ones the littermates won.
Blue - that’s awesome! Nationals are soooo much fun, just to see so many dogs of the same breed all in one place! I hope to make the ASCA nationals this year with Zap and possibly Pirate (my pupper)… oh boy oh boy oh boy!
She’s just a little over 3, and much more wise than when you last saw her. She’s still full of beans, et elle ne donne pas sa place, j’te jure!
A little alpha, I see. She should get along well with my Jackie (another alpha). She’s on a leash and she goes after Rotties and Pitt Bulls  (until they get close enough and then she wants to play with them).
If you want to have an idea of my Jackie, look at the dog inRoad Warrior . It is the same size and shape as her, except for the colouring, mine is black and tan.
