Una or Arnold, is the software written in such a way that members can’t add mods and admins to their ignore lists? If not, then I can see some potential problems; otherwise, I think it’s a great feature.
I just tried on Arnold (nothin’ personal big guy, you were just the nearest available Being of Power) and I got a message saying “What the HELL do you think you’re doing, putz? You can’t ignore a Mod or Admin! Y’think we’re dumb or something? Do you? Try this again and we’ll send Ed around to slap you like a red-headed stepchild.” Um…or words to that effect. I may be embellishing just a hair.
In any event, no. You can’t ignore a Mod or Admin, as far as I can tell
Fenris
reprise - I can confim what Fenris says (not that you can’t trust him, but you know how it is. ) Members cannot put a moderator or administrator on their ignore list.
Sorry it took us so long to put our heads together. But communicating via e-mail can take a while when there’s a large group of people involved.
The staff has decided not to disable the ignore list feature. But please don’t start bragging about who is on your ignore list (and discretion about your buddy list would also be helpful IMHO.) If it starts causing fights we might change our opinion.
Mum’s the word, then.
Hey, if someone would reassume his dictatorial duties and not talk about something, maybe that wouldn’t happen…
I tried to state as clearly as possible our position on ignore lists in the ATMB FAQ thread.
