Great song lyrics: 2 line philosophy only.

I would have thought that’s better known as Joni Mitchell quote, from “Big Yellow Taxi”.
Here’s my submission:

“Cat on a tin roof, dogs in a pile,
Nothin’ left to do but smile, smile, smile.”

It’s pratically a haiku - so few words, yet I can see those dogs panting in the heat, and I can see that cat, and how that describes the human condition for most of us most of the time - no option but grin and bear it…

Go wherever you can be and live for the day
it’s only wear and tear - “Further Away” by IQ

“She said that I’d grow old believing that I was what mattered most,
That I’d uncover real feelingswhen I got close”…

Julies House

In a world that keeps on pushin’ me around

–Connie Francis

And there’s so much time to make up everywhere you turn
Time we have wasted on the way
So much water moving underneath the bridge
Let the water come and carry us away

–Crosby, Stills & Nash

I could quote Bjork all day, and those lines you quoted right there come from one of my favorite songs by her.

I also will offer up two lines from her I See Who You Are from Volta:

Let’s celebrate now
All this flesh on our bones

**Can’t help about the shape I’m in, I can’t sing, I aint pretty and my legs are thin
**
But don’t ask me what I think of you, I may not give the answer that you want me to…

-Peter Green

Don’t ya know there ain’t no devil
That’s just God when he’s drunk

Tom Waits

“Take a minute just to breathe and think of everything you wanted and what you got instead.”

David Cook (no one laugh at me either)

We all know success when we all find our own dreams,
And our love is enough to knock down any walls.

Actually, just about any Prine song would qualify…he is the master of quirky lyrics
