Great songs you hadn't heard in ages!

John Hiatt’s “Perfectly Good Guitar.” I haven’t heard it in eons, and I love that song. It’s the only Hiatt song I really like, actually.

“He’d rock it like a baby in his arms,
Never let it come to any harm.”

Thanks, Arnold, for the “Strange Fruit” lyrics. I’d heard of the song, but never seen the words. Chilling indeed.

If you really think I would post any comment on that godawful song, you are sadly mistaken

Coldfire

"You know how complex women are"

  • Neil Peart, Rush (1993)

Coldfire, that '80s site kicks butt! I’m gonna go back to it and stroll down memory lane. See ya!

Digging Your Scene–Blow Monkeys (what a great f**king song!)

“Don’t look at me–I’m irrelevant.”

I Will Be Here For You and Somebody Love Me* by Michael W. Smith.

It’s Raining Again by Supertramp.

“Two Hangmen Hangin’ In A Tree” by Mason Prophet.

“Alice’s Restaurant”, I think it’s by Arlo Guthrie, but it’s been a long time.

“Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald” by Gordon Lightfoot

“I’m An Asshole!” by Dennis Leary.

Other than Blue Monday, I no longer listen to radio.

For this thread, I opened the vinyl vault, and came out with Louisiana Blues by Savoy Brown. In memory of Lonesome Dave.

I’d like to hear Hijack The Radio by the Nervebreakers (on order for more than a month) and Medicine Man by the Buchanan Brothers (where can I get this? No sound card, so MP3 is out.)

“If you’re so pro-life, do me a favor: don’t block medical clinics, lock arms and block cemeteries.” – Bill Hicks

“Daddy, Daddy” by Adrien Belew.
“Take Me Home Tonight” by Ediie Money (I think) with Ronnie Spector.
“River Deep Mountain High” by Tina Turner.
“Dead Man’s Party” by Oingo Boingo.

According to Pop-up Video, “Juice” is a nickname (for Judy I think) and was originally the name of the family dog.

“Strange Fruit” was covered about 15 years ago by Siouxsie and the Banshees. Still a good performance, but not quite the same level of impact coming from a white English punker.

Well, I satisfied my urge to hear “Lonely Boy” by buying a CD with it on it

Now I want to hear “Convoy”

Love is like popsicles…you get too much you get too high.

Not enough and you’re gonna die…

I dunno about recently, but the Pretenders did a version on the Friends soundtrack. Actually, I think that is the recent version–I can’t find any mention of it on any other album.

Her real name is Judy Kay; Juice was her nickname since about middle school, because she had so much energy, and because her hair was, at the time, so much the color of orange juice.

Remember, I’m pulling for you; we’re all in this together.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear Good Intentions by TtWS the other day (Toad the Wet Sprocket for you deprived people who haven’t heard that awesome band) I love their stuff, but mostly just hear All I Want or Walk on the Ocean on the radio. So it was neat to hear that one.

When are you going to realize being normal isn’t necessarily a good thing?
