Great. There's a bird in my chimney.

I can hear it chirping, and it sounds like a small bird: perhaps a chickadee or nuthatch.

The flue is closed and I’m heading out for groceries.

I guess I’ll deal with the little guy in a couple of hours. I don’t want to open the flue right now and have it fluffing around in ashes while I’m gone.

Stupid bird brains.

ETA: A bird in my chimney, if a mod could please correct the title.

Heh… A bird in your chimney, eh? Yeah I know what you mean… wink wink
Or would it be more appropriate with a “That’s what she said!” remark at this point? Social nuances always elude me…

Probably trying to hook up with your mice as part of their mutual plan for total domination of the Leaffan house.

We had this happen to us several years ago. We were alerted to it by one of our cats. We opened the flue, took it out, and released it.

Our cat was pissed!

“But…but…that was my bird!”

It might be a burglar!

Don’t send a cat down there, things only get worse after that.

Or you could start a fire, I imagine the chirping will end shortly thereafter.

Nah, if the cat disappears just toss down a dog.

and so it begins. What a hog.
