I just saw it tonight, and enjoyed it quite a bit. I read the book when it first came out, and from what I can remember, the movie stayed true to the book. The guy who played Coffey looked almost exactly how I had imagined the character would look. Comments?

I haven’t seen it yet – it takes months for good first-run movies to make it to our small town theaters.
But I’m on an e-mail list devoted to horror and dark fiction, lots of SKing fans there – many of them have seen it and said the same thing you did, Michelle – that it was remarkably faithful to the book and a wonderful, thoughtful movie.
And that the 3 hours didn’t seem like 3 hours.
And that the guy who played Coffey should get an Oscar nomination.
And take lots of hankies.
