Greetings! And a question

Just popping in to welcome Sarah.

And to ask if I can get in on this initiation stuff? Sounds like … fun.

Perhaps.

A quick primer:

About This Message Board: “Where do I go on this board to find out about oranges?”
Comment on Cecil’s Columns: “Cecil made a mistake in his column about oranges…”
Comment on Staff Reports: “Chronos / Dex / Eutychus made a mistake in his column about oranges…”
General Questions: “What is an orange?”
Great Debates: “Orange harvesting is causing illegal drug trade in South America…”
Cafe Society: “Has anyone seen A Clockwork Orange?” or “Anybody know any good recipes for oranges?”
In My Humble Opinion: “Do you like oranges?”
Mundane and Pointless Stuff I Must Share: “I’m eating oranges!”
The BBQ Pit: “!)(*#%##! oranges!”
iampunha: You won’t need to outrun the goat! evil cackle

hands over a pretty shiny badge to norinew

OK, so in keeping with the scale of the Supersized Goat, we need to get a “straw” made from PVC tubing, right?

Wait.
PVC tubing and goats…
Why does that sound familiar?

(pretends for a moment that this thread is still in ATMB)

I must point out that “Fritz Schnackenpfefferhausen” is twenty-eight characters long, and the maximum length for a username here is twenty-five characters. Or at least, it was last I knew, but it may have been decreased further since then.

You’re welcome.

That’s odd … I don’t see Bertha anywhere …

Oh, well, forget that. Meanwhile, enjoy the scrumptious buffet we have laid out.

We have Cabritos, Katsiki Kapama, Capra a Ra Vutana, Feuilleté de chèvre …

When we do the Dope version of Fear Factor, dibs on playing Joe Rogan. “That’s what I’m talkin’ about!”

Hal Briston must’ve forgotten to put her back again. :stuck_out_tongue:

The French Lieutenant’s Woman, as I just learned by Googling.

Sarah, once you become a full-fledged member*, you’ll be able to click on a poster’s name and find all contributions said poster has made to the SDMB. By looking in the upper right corner of each indexed post, you’ll be able to get a feel for where that individual hangs out. For example, I generally start my sessions in MPSIMS, as I’ve bookmarked the Celebrity Death Pool 2005 thread and click on it when I’m at home. When I’m on a public computer – or, as is currently the case, housesitting for Long Time First Time – I go to the SDMB home page, then to the list of forums, where I generally select MPSIMS or Cafe Society unless the latest post in another forum intrigues me so much that I have to check it out.

From an official member of the Unofficial Welcoming Committee, welcome!

*or maybe even before paying – either way, you should pony up (or goat up) the dough ASAP! Which reminds me, I still have to renew my subscription…

Be careful what you ask for. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes indeed, one of my favourite books.
Thanks Kytheria for the “oranges” rundown! Explains a lot.
Now I’m adapting to the world of the Dope…

Judging by the first comment, I’m not sure how qualified you are to make the second;)

[sub]Good RECIPES for oranges?[/sub]

Hi Sarah, I spend most of my time in the pit, but I don’t drink, and I rarely swear.

I just find it more interesting. Sure sometimes it gets heated, but even that makes it interesting. imho

There are quite a few folks like me in the Pit, those that don’t drink or swear all that much.

The Pit isn’t the only forum I like, I do read GD, it’s fascinating, but I"m not willing to do that much study and only join in when it’s a subject (few of them :D) with which I’m very familiar and have some expertise. I also like IMHO and MPSIMS.

But I’d say at least 90% is the Pit. Hope that helps.

Haha, down here, we just deep-fry 'em in butter like everything else.
:stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome, Sarah Woodruff!
Must… resist… urge… to… make… naughty… puns…

Welcome, Sarah Woodruff and Feydeau!

Don’t worry about things not being fun. I understand that the goat usually enjoys things (if sometimes feeling a bit stretched by the events), and as for the calamari? She has, shall we say, ‘catholic’ tastes. Especially on Easter.

[sub]Hmph. Spend a long equinoctial weekend meeting several beautiful intelligent women and away from the boards and what happens on the boards? Newbies! Well, at least Mariah got fed.[/sub]
