OK. For the people looking for the free weapons and armor :
when you leave CJ’s crib, just walk around the house to the right.
Then follow the wall and you should get to the rain-drain canals (I don’t know what to call them).
Almost immediately to your right on a lower level you will find a mini-SMG (I think it is a Mac 10)
If you move to the left side, you will find an armor beneath the bridge.
A great way to make money is to find the betting offices.
I have spent a few hours there and turned my 25000 credits into a whopping 33.8 million !!!
I absolutely love the game, although the size of it is a bit daunting in the beginning.
I love the fact that you can now learn to fly and have already stolen some airplanes.
If you buy a planeticket to fly to San Fiero, you will pass over Los Santos.
Just jump out of the plane and open your parachute and you steal a plane to go look at the pretty casino’s.
It won’t last long, since fighterplanes will take you out pretty quickly.
When my son was outfitting and painting his car, “Low Rider” from War was playing…how effing cool was that? That song should have been on the soundtrack because it basically epitomizes the cruising/driving part of the game and it also transcends all music genre in the game.
I hate flying missions as I’ve found them to be more an exercise in frustration then fun. It took me 12+ attempts to get through the mission using the RC Plane to blow up vans and bikers. It took me quite a while just to get my pilot’s license and even longer to finish flight school.
Just got to San Fierro. Woozie is the coolest guy ever in GTA, forget anyone else. Oh, and I now have definately met a few characters from previous games…
I love how the radio stations progress, the show content changes, DJs/news reporters coment on your missions. At least on K-DST and WCTR, anyway. It is a bit daunting driving arount the vast countryside around Los Santos/San Fierro, though.
Save in your safe house. Drive to betting shop. Bet 10K on the long shot. If you win go away and save. If you lose load and try again. Took me about an hour of arseing around but have lots of money now. I’m off to buy property
Just save at CJ’s place and drive to the Bookie.
Bet everything on the long shot.
If it fails, just load the game and try again.
It should succeed about 1 in 20 times, so it is a bit of a hassle.
But then you will have no more money-worries. (At least in GTA)
I finished the final mission today but by no means did I complete the game. I went through the entire game without running any vigilante, ambulance, fire truck, or pimp missions. I only found two girlfriends, a few clams, few tags, and one horse shoe. There’s a lot more to the game and I’m going to take my time and find them.
I have been trying to get to Vigilante level 12, and if I cancel the mission while in the middle of it by accidently hitting R3 one more time, I’m going to fucking smash my playstation into a million pieces. ARRGGGHHHGHGHHGHGHGGH!!!
I recommend trying it using a police motorbike and at least 3500 rounds of SMG ammo. It’s much easier than in a cruiser, because you can use L1 to shoot in front of you. Las Venturas, with its wide open spaces and accessible ground level freeways, is also probably the easiest place to do it. Wanted stars do not go away during vigilante missions, so I found myself visiting the pay’n’spray two or three times during my run to level 12.
In East Los Santos…on the map, look for a large rectangular building missing it’s southeast quadrant…it’s called the “Pig Pen” (in pink lettering). Also, you’ll find a sawed-off shotgun on the roof when you get on the northeast quadrant of the building. You can go in to the back room for a lap dance. I think there are three different dancers that show up (not all at once though). Also, I noticed that the game CRASHES (at least for me it does) if you keep going back to the lap dance room without going outside first. I was trying to find out how many different dancers there are back there…
Another improvement I noticed in the game is that you can do flips on the motorcycles (when you take a decent jump) without losing the motorcycle in midflight. The “Sanchez” motorcycle is just too damn fun when it comes to jumping and flipping.
I particularly enjoy jumping the broken bridge over the river (near the middle of the map - just outside that little town) since you can jump it both ways. It’s even more fun taking that bridge when the law is chasing you!
