Guess the famous person, then add another

It’s Ed Sullivan (it came to me in a dream last night) – good shoe though!

Joan & Phyllis are correct. There’s no Abednego Daniel that I can think of and you’re so on the right track with Eddie.

Zeldar, do you want to give up on the names prior to my post #176.

Jewel Murderchallenge.

What I was asking was Abednego a substitute for Daniel, not that Abednego Daniel was a guess for the whole name.

As for those that you already gave clues for, twice, that stumped me as bad as the names themselves, yes, Uncle! Bail me out here, I beg thee.

However, I’ll keep trying on the later bunch.

Is that Jim Kildare? (I never knew his other name besides Dr.)

OH! It has to be Eddie Cantor!

I keep forgetting when I edit inside quotes VBulletin doesn’t think I typed anything.

No resonse from Sternvogel, so,

Gloria Champion - Haven’t you ever acted as guardian to something or someone. - Gloria Foster**.
Don SpiffApple - This just a simple polishing Job. - Don M(a)cLean.
Jordan Shavings - peelings, peels or pickings - It’s comedic, what the layers will reveal - Jordan Peele , another MadTV comdian.
Garry Bountyhunter - Even with the correction, any LEO will do - Garry Marshall.
Woodie Passerine - This particular type of bird (though not a parrot) is now associated with dirty talk - Peter Finch.
Foodkeeper Admiral - Nimitz was not the only name associated with football - Refrigerator Perry.

Good ones, 5-4-Fighting, but I just couldn’t get anywhere with them. I can’t place Gloria and Jordan in my memory but I should have been able to figure the others out.

Just logged in and read your PM – too late, I see. Yes, Ed Sullivan (sully van) was correct.

As for Arnold Pilgrim, it’s actually a straightforward clue – the etymology of his last name reflects a practice of certain pious visitors to the Holy Land.

Arnold Palmer? It’s be frittering around the edges of my so-called mind for what seems tlike weeks now, but this defnition points to him.

ETA: Great clue.
