Actually, I have seen the webisodes…and they tipped the balance on my choice of Gaeta as the final cylon. He seems to sorta fit the hybrid’s prophesy about arriving in great pain, clawing toward the light.
I’m totally down with Roslin.
I mean, her being the last Cylon. But also in that way too.
I don’t think Ron Moore planned out the final five cylons that early, but I don’t think Baltar’s cancer cure would have worked if Roslyn was a cylon. Something about fundamental differences between human and cylon somethingwhatsit. Of course, Moore has said that the five are fundamentally different…
I’m also in the Starbuck’s mom camp. Kara as a cylon is a big cop-out, but Kara as the first human-cylon hybrid makes for a ton of depth and explanation for her character.
Not Gaetta. It just doesn’t add anything, or create any sort of “oh! That’s why that happened!” moment.
Not Baltar. He’s the ultimate human embodiment - completely flawed, capable of absolute brilliance, capable of pandering to his base instincts, ultimately redeemable. Making him a cylon throws all of that away. I think Roslin could be the other side of that coin.
I’m hoping Lorne Greene is her dad.
Someone who has not yet appeared on the show, based on the the intro page at youwillknowthetruth.com (“You do not know my name” or something), and D’Anna’s statement that the Fifth “is not in the fleet”.
The first new character to be introduced this season will give it away.
According to Herc, it might just be revealed in the final moments of tonight’s episode; there was a scene deleted from the press screeners.
I’m gonna say it’s Crashdown. He’ll be pissed that Baltar shot him in the back.
I stand corrected at least as to the timing. According to the episode description on my cable system, the final cylon will be revealed tonight.
I’d make a guess, but I neither watch the show, nor have a dart board.
Right now is the first time since ditching it that I regret cancelling cable to go the purchase on iTunes route.
I have to make a prediction? Oh. Roslin. The shared visions with other beings, all of whom are cylons (except Balthar with his six-in-head) as far as I know are what make me lean in this direction.
So, are we declaring a winner?
Since the thread wasn’t labeled as have spoilers, I’ve removed the two posts giving them. Spoilers can go in another, properly labeled thread if you’d like.
Oh frack that was funny.
Even the name Billy just somehow seems a perfect fit to the situation to boot.
I laughed till I cried. Thank you!
Brought back all those horrible memories of killer labs that almost felt like a full time job worth only a single credit.

Lame academic requirements.
Talking with academic advisors blah blah blah…
Maybe they will give the poor guy an honary Phd in Post Apocalyptic Time Management.
It’s still technically possible that one of the other male Cylons is the father. Tyrol, Tigh, and Anders have spotty memories. And some of the original models are collectively crazy or vicious enough (the Leobens and the Cavils especially), one of them might’ve done the deed and not told his siblings.
The funniest father would be Tigh, which would also paint a nice new shade to their already colorful relationship. Leoben would win the incest award. But as for the answer to the thread, I have to say I’m a bit disappointed.
Ellen? So much of Tigh’s characterization for the last two season has been built on her death, this recent revelation would seem to entirely undermine that emotional whollop. Just a weird choice, it seems to me.
Frakin great episode, though.
Gukumatz fucking called it. Kudos!
But I just can’t see any good dramatic sense of that choice! She’s one of the least significant characters in the entire series, in my opinion. Did they pick her name out of a hat or something?
If she had never been in the story at all, nothing of significance would have changed. Had the final Cylon been Boxey, as some have joked, it would make precisely as much dramatic and logical sense.
I don’t like it. The rest of the episodes do not look promising now that she has been revealed as the final Cylon.
I think it’s perverse… I mean… Tigh killed her for sleeping with a cylon, aiding the enemy. And he ended up being a Cylon.
And so was she.
It’s like a Greek Tragedy!
Yes, it is, but so what? What hasn’t been like a Greek tragedy in this show? In my view, that’s one of the least dramatic, least appealing, and least rewarding story arcs in the entire formerly-brilliant, but in my mind, newly-frakked series.
Fuck.
Again, please remember this thread is about guessing who the last Cylon is, not discussing who it actually turned out to be to (for those who have seen the episode). Feel free to discuss that in a separate thread where spoilers are allowed.
Everyone will turn out to be Cylons.
Roslin.
