I just watched Sucker Punch and liked it. I get it was not popular but…I liked it.
What other movies are “bad” (note the quotes) but you enjoy?

Movie 43 was fucking hilarious.
I’ll (cautiously) second that.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) with that creepy kid, was a great movie.
I like Star Trek V. It’s the 3rd best out of the 13 films after II and VI
I liked II…not a fan of IV. Just my personal opinion.
I don’t know if these were widely panned, but they would probably be considered “bad”, with sophomoric humor:
“UHF” with Al Yankovic - didn’t do well during the initial release. I understand the studio planned to use Al Yankovic in a series of films but dropped the idea due to the poor boxoffice of UHF. The saddest words of tongue or pen…
“Caveman” with Ringo Starr and Shelly Long.
“Used Cars” with Kurt Russell.
“Hot Stuff” with Dom DeLuise.
I don’t know how widely panned the original Red Dawn was, it was well-liked enough to have a remake made (which really sucked), but nobody holds it up as a classic of cinema. Whenever I’d see it on cable though, I’d find myself watching it. WOLVERINES!!
All the way until the last scene AI was brilliant. The stuck on happy ending killed it. My panned movie pic is Hudson Hawk. I think people went into it expecting a different kind of movie and were disappointed with the serio-comical movie it was.
Weekend at Bernie’s. Both I and II. The adventures Bernie’s body finds itself in are so wacky that they’re enjoyable. I liked seeing the hit man lose his confidence and going progressively. crazier as he kept trying to “kill” Bernie again. Who wouldn’t enjoy Bernie pulling a horse drawn carriage with an arrow sticking through his head, listening to tropical music, and a parrot standing on one end of the arrow? Very underrated comedies.
Who’s Harry Crumb? You can’t go wrong with John Candy. It’s not one of his better known works, but I enjoy it.
Friday the 13th VII. I first saw this after having already seen Weekend at Bernie’s, and enjoyed getting to see Terry Kiser in a different setting. Also Kane Hodder is the best of all the Jasons.
Hatchet - all of them. Kane Hodder getting to show what he could have done with Jason had Jason gone all out. I also enjoyed seeing various other horror movie icons, including Robert Englund, Tony Todd, and Derek Mears, meeting their doom at the hands of Kane Hodder.
Clue. The entire cast was excellent, especially Tim Curry. I also liked seeing Christopher Lloyd / Doc Brown in a different take on the professor role.
Agree with Red Dawn. I’ll add Point Break (the original one). Love it.
Yeah, Hudson Hawk was one of the first movies I thought of when I saw the thread title. I don’t believe it’s a good movie, but I enjoyed it for what it was. “Bunny, ball ball.”
Red Dawn fan too.
I never understood the hate Hudson Hawk got. I like it.
Timing your heists by songs? Great stuff!
Some of those already mentioned would be on my list; however, I will add “The Core.” It really is a bad movie, but I just love it despite itself.
Arnold Schwarznegger’s Last American Hero was widely panned, and garnered only 40% approval at Rotten Tomatoes, but I enjoyed it a lot when it was released, and still do.
I second Clue and Who’s Harry Crumb?
My own personal choice is the Andrew “Dice” Clay movie The Adventures of Ford Fairlaine.
I came in here to say Dodgeball, but I see it is fairly well rated, so doesn’t really qualify as “panned”.
Clue was great. Especially Tim Curry but the whole cast was wonderful.
Was Clue panned? I wasn’t aware of it at time of release, as I was just a child, but I’ve never seen anyone talk badly about it. I’m thinking it doesn’t belong in this thread.
