I used to avoid Dragonball Z like the plague. My son watched it avidly for years, but I just saw a bunch of characters standing around yelling insults at each other until they would start fighting and blasting.
One day last fall I was going on like this until my son finally said, “Just try it for a week, Dad. You’ll like it.” I took him up on it.
I happened to come in on the Sayaman arc of the Buu Saga. In a week I was hooked. I had to catch up. I caught the Cell Saga. I developed a crush on Videl. I’m watching the stories with Raditz, and I’m wondering if Master Roshi will ever get lucky.
God help me, I’m a DBZ addict! Yeah, I know, DBZ is hardly the epitome of Anime, but I can’t help myself. What show are you ashamed of liking?
