Last night I reread Guy Stuff and noticed something very interesting. Three, possibly four, members of that extravaganza have since been promoted to moderator. (I can’t recall quite when Uncle Beer was elevated.) John Corrado, ColdFire and TVeblen. Coincidence? Evil Plot? Illuminati?
Our wonderous Uncle was promoted after the guy stuff thread.

UncleBeer was elevated to his Most High Exalted Moderator status shortly after the May 2000 ChiDope, where the already Most High Exalted Moderator Gaudere was in attendance. Alphagene, who was also at the May ChiDope, was promoted to MHEM right around the same time, but IIRC, Alphagene did not participate in the epic adventure that was Guy Stuff.
