Even though the shot didn’t go in, they gave him the money.
If they hadn’t, they would’ve lost more than $1,000 (the prize) in good will, I think.

I’ve seen balls get lodged between the side of the rim and board. But this was definitely the first time I saw a ball wedged between the top of the rim and the board. Was that a regulation ball?
Yup, definitely regulation ball. I think he just threw it up with a lot of backspin and it twisted right in.
But he stepped over the line – no good!!!
If you look at the view from behind the backboard, the ball was presses pretty flat against the glass. I wonder if it was inflated fully. Of course, it looks like he was dribbling it just fine beforehand. It was surprised at the way it just stopped. If it was a movie or a TV show, I would’ve guessed the ball started there and they pulled it off and then played it in reverse.
One grand? That’s it? Sheesh, for a shot like that, give him at least that much!
I still can understand how that happened.
I thought it made the Falcons look awfully cheap too. $1000 for a shot with maybe a 1 in 20 shot? Weak sauce Atlanta.
And somehow he even got the ball quadrant with the NBA logo to display perfectly. I mean what are the odds on that?
One in three?

In Alabama? That’ll easily run you more than a grand!
