Same here. Boxerbriefs for me. I used to wear briefs when I was in elementary and middle school. Once I started buying my own underwear, briefs got rotated out very quickly.
I do own one pair of boxers that an exgirlfriend gave me a while back and they would ride up too damn much. Combined with my baggy pants, this was bad.
No I do no believe this. Like said, I did start out wearing briefs and it was because that’s what my mom bought me. Once that responsibility became mine, I switched to boxerbriefs because I’d heard somehwere that they are more sexually appealing to women than the other two options.
I have yet to encounter a woman that disagreed. But then again, I could just ooze sex appeal.
Speaking as a female… wouldn’t the crotch area of your pants get dirty/smelly/stinky/sweaty faster if you don’t wear underpants?
Another question… how rare is it amongst guys to switch from one type to another one? I had a friend whom, one night would be wearing boxers, another one briefs, and I’ve seen him take off the boxers, take a shower, and come back wearing briefs.
Boxer briefs. I switched to these for someone. For a while, I still had some tighty-whiteys and boxer briefs, so I could compare. On a cold day walking to work, the tighty-whiteys were less comfortable than boxer briefs. I have some Joe Boxers bikini briefs that I bought to wear under a sarong (for a special event), but they’re considered the undies of last resort.
I wear boxer briefs. I like the tightness around my legs (I can’t stand briefs because of the leg) and the realtive looseness around the MANJUNK. I wore briefs when my mom bought them for me when I was young, and I switched to boxers because a couple friends were raving about them and I wanted to try them. I wore them for a couple years in high school but I eventually got tired of flopping around everywhere and the seam between the legs was incredibly frustrating. I switched to boxer briefs because it’s literally the best of both worlds. Boxers and briefs are unwearable for me today.
It’s worth noting that I live in the southwest US, which is very dry. I think this would possibly change were I to live in the southeast US. Also, it took me three or four years to finally find a boxer brief that I like a lot (Hanes tagless no “ride up” are the best ever made).
Men usually pick their favorite and stick with it. It’s unheard of for anyone I know to switch between the four types more than once a week, and only for special occasions. Really strange guy that one is.
Curiously, my father (b. 1906) wore boxers and so did I until I (b. 1937) discovered briefs and have never worn anything else since. Couldn’t stand boxers. They bunched up, didn’t support well and all that. My two sons (b. 1967 and 1973) therefore grew up wearing briefs until they were grown, discovered boxers and have worn nothing else since. Go figure!
I’ve gone commando since about 13 or so. Hated boot camp, when they made us wear undies. Itchy, scratchy, nasty tighty-whities with our name stenciled on it. Ew.
I own a few pairs of boxer/briefs that I wear if I’m going to the doctor or under dress pants.
My parents used to buy me briefs, so I wore those until I was 20 or so, then I tried boxers and switched. Now I mostly don’t wear anything. I’m pretty careful when it comes to zipping up, so getting it caught has never been a problem.
Never tried boxer briefs and never will, they look stupid to me.
I know the younger kids like boxers, in my day (I’m 45) it was only briefs. It changed around 1990ish I think when kids went to wearing boxers. I don’t get how anyone can wear them, they bunch up and they don’t provide support, and face it I don’t have all that much to carry around, so I can’t imagine how anyone else does.
What I want to know is how come at the gym all the guy have the whitest underwear I’ve ever seen. My old drawers are dingy. I wash them, I pre-soak, I bleach both chlorine and non-chlorine and still they are dingy
Boxers. I wore briefs for over 40 years, but the feeling of being all bunched up got to be really annoying. Now what’s annoying is that it’s become hard to get a good fit. The pattern seems to change whenever a manufacture changes sweatshops. Or something. But I’ll never go back to briefs.
I grew up on tighty-whiteys. Tried boxers when I was old enough to buy my own, but didn’t care for it. I didn’t like the feeling of everything so loose and knocking around. Sometimes it even hurt the fellas. So I went back to the briefs for a while, until…
Boxerbriefs seem to come out of nowhere, and ever since, my package has been super-comfy. Also, I think they look the best, at least on my body type.
Been buying those for ~15 years now. Can’t stand tighty-whiteys. Boxers are fine for just lounging around, I’ve got a few pairs of 'em including some in silk which can be fun sleepwear, some girls have enjoyed my wearing them.
I didn’t switch to my current style to please anyone but myself; they’re incredibly comfortable and don’t ride up anywhere. I have muscle-y legs so I need something that fits farther down my thigh, otherwise I get chafing where my leg meets my hip and I like the support. I prefer black because I think it looks better, longer.
I wear the gray briefs from Old Navy; more comfortable than other briefs. I’ve tried boxers, but they feel like I’m wearing no underwear (I’ve tried that too).
