Guys: Tell me about your underpants

I just read a little tabloid tidbit that some interviewer asked Chris Pine (Captain Kirk!) whether he wore briefs or boxers. Apparently he’s a briefs man. Which led to a little reverie on men’s underwear.

I haven’t seen much in the wild, being with the same guy since I was 18. I can’t deny that boxers (as seen on TV, movies, ads) look much sexier, but briefs look like they’d be more comfortable to me. I’m sure I’d wear briefs if I were a man.

I interpret boxer/briefs as trying to lose the dorkiness of tighty whiteys while keeping the comfort. Is that what they’re for?

Anyway, what do you wear and why? Did you ever switch for reasons of sex appeal or to please a partner?

Does anyone switch day to day between boxers and briefs with no allegiance to either?

Boxers. Tight clothing is really uncomfortable, so briefs are not remotely appealing.

Boxers. Every day of the week. I don’t own a single pair of briefs.

I don’t understand how people can stand briefs. They’re uncomfortable. They bunch everything all together. It gets all sweaty and sticky.

Boxers. Specifically, Tommy Hilfiger boxers. They are the only brand I’ve seen that does a 3 panel backside, so the boxers are contoured like and ass and don’t ride up or down.

I haven’t worn briefs since grade school. They are too tight, too hot, too sweaty.

Boxerbriefs. Love 'em. More supportive than boxers, but less constricting than briefs.

Briefs/boy shorts. Hanes or Calvins.

They compliment my age, are comfortable, and accentuate the size of my package while showing off my firmly toned buttocks. Both guys and girls have given rave reviews.

I don’t know how other men wear boxers. They look so sloppy and have no secure snug feeling; your boys are just flopping around. Boxers come in hilarious forms, though. Like Peanuts Christmas boxers. So I guess that’s a plus (?)

Boxers, or the combo Boxer-Briefs.

Briefs all the way. I’ve never worn a pair of boxers in my life.

Exactly. Briefs feel like they are cutting off your circulation, and boxers leave you flapping in the breeze. B/B is the perfect middle ground.

Tighty whities ,100 percent.

I don’t want a snug feeling, and I don’t want my boys held in. They need a little freedom.

Um…what undies? I haven’t worn any since I was 12 or so. I don’t see the point. Why would I need support? Why do I need a barrier between pants and junk? It’s a waste of money and laundry space.

2 words zippers + foreskin.

Briefs and or boxer briefs.

Boxers, although I’ve toyed with the idea of wearing boxer briefs.

I, too, find briefs constricting.

I used to actually wear both back in like 5th grade or something, but then I completed the transition to only boxers.

I do not own a pair of briefs to date.

do you guys feel like the decision was made for you, that is, your parents bought your style of underwear and that’s just what you stuck with all your life?

Bikini panties.

I think you hit it. My dad(born in 1923) wore only boxers as long as I knew him. I(born in 1944) wore only briefs, I can only assume my mom bought them first for me. My kids today, born in 1986/1989, wear only boxers. Fashion is probably the biggest dictator.

Probably. My father always wore briefs and that’s what my mother always bought for my brother and me when we were kids.

My mom bought me only briefs when I was a kid. When I was 11 or 12 I asked her to buy me a pack of 3 boxers at Sears to try, and I never looked back. By the time I was 14 I had nothing but boxers, and it’s been that way ever since.
