Looking forward to tonight’s show, h.sapiens. It had to be kind of imtimidating facing the second (after K. Jennings) favorite Jeopardy competitor of all time. I hope he didn’t cry too hard whenyou beat him!*
Sean - incredibly envious of you and 5 time champ
Merely a supportive statement. I have no advance knowledge of the outcome of your, or anyone else’s, performance on Jeopardy. Your mileage may vary. Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.
I didn’t remember if you said Tuesday or Wednesday so I taped yesterday’s show, too, and enjoyed watching Leah spank the two guys. A retroactive fingers crossed you do the same today. Even Eddie.
I lose my bet. I had guessed you were Eugene Finerman, from the s, the approximate location, and the “Jean”. Good thing I’m easy-going about collection and don’t charge interest.
Valiant effort Jean. I couldn’t come up with Boxer either, I’m sure that doesn’t mean a whole lot to you now. It was a great match overall, very entertaining.
I went into it hoping I wouldn’t embarass myself by being in the hole at Final Jeopardy, and I’m glad I was able to at least stay in the running. I didn’t realize until I watched it today, but at one point I was very briefly in the lead. Both Eddie and Jon were really nice, and Jon mentioned after the game that he didn’t think he would have known the final question if he hadn’t heard Barbara Boxer mention it in a radio interview. I don’t know if he was just saying that, but I appreciated it.
I had a lot of fun, even though it seemed much harder this time around. Of course, the competition was really tough, which was part of what made it exciting.
The thing that especially amazes me about Eddie is the way he’s able to keep track of how much of each category is left.
The show is on at 3:30 here, so a bunch of people at work gathered around the little office TV to watch. It was weird, but fun.
Gracious in defeat, a tremendous quality to be sure. I’m glad that you enjoyed the experience. My whole family, especially my six year old, were all cheering for you!
So I rush home this evening to watch your episode, Jean, and there is nothing on the the VCR tape. Not sure what happened.
Anyway, it sounds like you did not win your First Round game. No shame in that, the competition in the Tournament was awesome. You will always be able to say that you are in the top 144 players to ever play Jeopardy!
Sounds like you had a lot of fun at the the taping, and hopefully you didn’t get too wet while you were in California.
That is precisely the type of game that I enjoy seeing going into Final, and I’m sorry to say that was a pretty downright difficult question. Good game, and it was fun to see you ahead at a point in Double.
Oh, and I don’t envy you at all for having to watch yourself with cow-orkers! That’s cruel and unusual punishment.
drop, she lives less than ten miles from you. Easy on the “ou-yay ost-lay oo-tay a ind-blay uy-gay? [nelson] Ha-ha! [/nelson]” After all, it was Eddie and even your kid said, “She’s gonna play Eddie? Eddie RULES!”
Glad you had a good time. You made us proud.
We could be prouder…
Nice going Jean. I didn’t get to see Double Jeopardy, as a car accident happened just outside our house (not to worry, no ambulance necessary, but it took the cops 2 calls and an hour to respond), but they put together some tough categories, from what I saw. I came back just in time to miss the answer in Final Jeopardy.
Like many folks here, I suspect, I kick much ass on regular Jeopardy (at home, no buzzing in and no pressure), but they definately didn’t have many of “my” categories tonight on the Tournament of Champions.
I actually remembered both you and Eddie from previous shows. . .anyway, tough categories, strong effort. Thanks for sharing the experience.
