Haggle - a game of trading and secrets

MadTheSwine, I notice you’ve seen rule 10 now. Might you be interested in a B?
Offer 17A: my B for MadTheSwine’s C
or do you still need more rules before you decide?
Offer 17B: a look at rules 13 and 18 for the C

Accepted, I get an R, you get a T

USCDiver offer #23ish: For MadTheSwine: I will show you Rule 8 in exchange for one of your many S cards.

USCDiver Offer #24ish: for billyb0b, I will show you Rule 19 and 20 in exchange for your U card

done.

sheesh, I spend all this willpower staying away from the dope all morning, and none of you guys even have any trades waiting for me?

Oh well. Happy friday everyone!

Was it a holiday in Haggletown?

If so, let’s change that.

Hal Offer #14 for USCDiver: Trade you a U Card for an I Card?

USCDiver, if you decide you want to take Hal up on this, my offer still stands:

So you could regain an I card and be up a U.

Oh, and percypercy hasn’t been active for quite some time I think. We might want to start talking sub or redistribution of some of those assets if we can’t get her (?) in here.

Whoops, forgot about her. percypercy asked for a sub out, and I messaged back asking her to confirm that. Never got a reply on the confirmation.

All sub applications welcome, at this point.

Has everyone lost interest, or are we all just afraid of the Doctor Who / NAF1130 juggernaut?

To get things rolling again: I want an A, a Q, and to see rules 2, 3, and 8. Anyone want to make me an offer?

I think most of us have lost interest - but, to set the record straight, we’re no juggernaut! We’re like Google - “do no evil!” or stylish like Apple. Definitely Doctor 1138 is no Microsoft-style corporation.

Doctor 1138 Offer #10: I’ll take your H and your E. In exchange, I’ll give you rule 8 and rule 3. Also, you can have a J or a K. In addition, you have the choice of having me broadcast rule 2 to all players. (since I know it, but don’t actually possess it, so I can’t just trade it to you.)

I haven’t lost interest, but I’ve just about exhausted trading with the active players. I have several offers out there for players that haven’t made a post in a while, and to whom I’ve made nudgy PMs without reply.

I can only assume that like percypercy they’ve abandoned the game, but they haven’t let anyone know.

I say if you haven’t made or accepted an offer in the last 3 days your portfolio should be randomly distributed.

So what if I end up with duplicate rules? The truly active players have seen most of them anyway. This would just open up the ability for me to continue trading with the active people because they would once again have something I value (and vice versa).

Turned that into blue in my quote, since it wasn’t an acceptance.
And, USCDiver, again I’ll take your remarks under advisement. Moving percypercy into probate quickly seems reasonable enough. May also come up with a tracker to see who else hasn’t been active lately. Still think that 3 days isn’t nearly enough.

What does anybody else think about this sort of thing? We’ve got about 11 days until the scheduled close of trading now.

Since I seem to be stuck (the stuff I want is in the hands of two inactive players - percypercy and billyb0b), I’d like to see something done to get the resources in play.

Okay, I’ve completed my analysis.

percypercy may well get probated today. I’ve sent billyb0b a warning - he hasn’t been able to get on the dope much, but I’m still going to give him until Tuesday before I declare his portfolio moribund.

Everybody else posted at least last Thursday - but Uncommon Sense, Dragoness, and MadTheSwine may get reminders that the game is still going on, and it’d be appreciated if they stuck their head in at least every few days.

Sound good?

Yup.

Sounds fair…

I still say that’s too much grace period, but if that’s the decision, I’ll go along with it.

The difference between this game and Mafia is that a ‘lurking player’ (to use the vernacular) in this game essentially hamstrings the whole process while in Mafia they just draw suspicion to themself and likely either get lynched or kicked out for inactivity, but the game can continue without him.

I miss the early days when everyone had something of value for everyone else and trades were being made left and right.
