Great game, Meeko, thanks for running it. I agree with NAF the rule set worked very well in that not having all of the rules wouldn’t kill you but they were worth trading for until the very end.
Thanks. It was just a few Ideas I had. I wanted to try a variant for Halloween, actually, but didn’t think I could get things done in time. As this was, we started a week or so after the 14th? I figured it really wouldn’t matter, but it does help in some cases. The 2 special conversation hearts and the Vase were among my first ideas. and I just wanted to bust assumptions on some other parts. [The “Set” of jewelry] Also, Rule 17 and the 1 4 3 rule slips came from Dragon’s Hoard.
I knew you were sandbagging NAF will all of that talk about me being out of reach but you did a great job of keeping people from trading with me.
Yeah. I was too busy behind the scenes to actually watch the game. Otherwise, I think I would have caught on to this one. It would seem, even with knowing the rules, you aren’t sure of the master plans.
Lack of participation did hurt this game but the auction ended up the most balanced that I’ve seen. I’m not sure what we could do to improve participation or make a couple of people dropping out less relevant.
Haggle without auction is ideal. Did Dragon’s Hoard have an auction? Personally, I remain amazed at how many times participation comes up in board games, Mafia Included. Then again, now that I have a job, I have a missing piece to this puzzle. I could think up some “” fixes “” to counter against an auction, but not so sure any of them would be better, or more eloquent.
I liked my plan to corner the vase market but unfortunately only NAF was able to take advantage of it if only Pede didn’t have rule 10 early I think I could have pulled it off.
I did notice this. I even pm’d you once I saw it.
I figured you were going after vases to attempt a Copper type gambit. … And then I realized that you didn’t see 10 yet. And yes, I loved it that you were trying to learn [in some sense] from the Copper debacle, and went after Vases, that thanks to 10 wasn’t as you thought it was. I’m sure running after vases would be present in any version of the game, regardless of players. That Oredigger was doing it… was just fun for a Moderator Meeko to watch.
