See by trading away the wand, some of the things I hold would gain value and some would lose value. Overall, considering the value of my stock without counting the ruby I would receive, I would lose a significant amount.
So the question is, does the value of the ruby equal or exceed the drop in value of my stock? To answer that question, I need to know the base value of a precious gem.
I don’t know that information.
It’s possible that the value of a precious gem will more than compensate for the net drop. If I can learn what the values is then I’ll reconsider.
