Oh and earlier, I meant when you went from outhouse to regular old American Standard toilet, you were quite happy with a regular old toilet right? If your dorm or whatever had one of them fancy Japan models, that would be a bit much and unnecessary right?
And I’m glad to see someone can disagree without resorting to petty namecalling.
come on miller, don’t be gutless- you’ve responded all afternoon, now I ask you to address something directly instead of going off on some bullshit tangent and you’re conveniently AWOL- “man up” as you say.
I am glad that we can be civil (I actually sorta like you for some strange reason) but you’re dead wrong here.
I quoted you because your quote about was severely misquided.
Also, even if my school had turned out to have gold-plated Japanese models and all of the students there on scholarship to a private school and from houses with no indoor plumbing, I could see no reason
Oprah is a private citizen and, as a philanthropist, her largesse can take any form she wants it to take. Further, until I’ve donated at least $45 million to a developing country, I’d keep my mouth shut about anything to do with someone else’s gift.

My problem, as I’ve stated repeatedly, is that you’re an idiot. As an idiot, you can not be trusted to reliably convey what Oprah did, or did not, actually say on her show. So when you say, “Oprah says she’s involved in the daily events of the school,” my first reaction is, “Bullshit. She never said anything like that. You’re either totally misunderstanding something else she said, or deliberately making shit up because you’ve got some bizarre grudge against the woman.”
But you know what? You’re right. It won’t fucking matter. Because even if you do somehow find a quote where Oprah claims that she, personally, teaches every lesson in the school, cooks all the meals, and wipes the asses of every single one of her students, the fact of the matter is that she’s still done more to make a positive change in these girls life than you have ever done for anyone, anywhere, under any circumstance, and your constant harping on her for building a fucking school with her own money, as if that’s some sort of fucking character flaw, reveals you to be a petty, bitter little shit who wouldn’t know a decent act if it pushed you in front of an oncoming train. The absolute worst thing you can pin on Oprah Winfrey here is engaging in hyperbole, and you’ve managed to transform that into a four page embarassment for yourself. Congratulations, dickhead. You’re a real winner.

So I’m lying or making shit up, and even if I’m not, it doesn’t matter anyway becasue my OP is petty. That, my friend, I cannot argue with (the arguement is petty part). That is a valid cogent rebuttal to what *I’ll admit * is a petty rant. But that’s not what you’ve been arguing the past four pages. If you had said what you just said in your initial post, I’d have said you’re right, its petty, but tis my feelings on the subject. Its you’re right to call me a petty fucking bastard just as its mine to post a petty rant- no problem there. You and many others don’t agree and think I’m an idiot, etc. fine. My whole impetus for the post was “she talks all that shit like she’s up on what’s going on, but she is lying to make herself look good, when its totally unnecssary. No one expects her to know shit about the school, so why does she act like she does?”
That’s all. I know mods don’t close threads for one to avoid taking shit, but if a mod wants to close after anyone else gets their opinion in, please do. If not no problem, I’ll respond to anyone who wants me to address anything they post.
So what would you say of one who caved in to peer pressure on a message board? Why does me calling someone known to no one here a childish name bother you anyway?
I can see it now. The Headmaster of the school calls Oprah.
Headmaster: “So, this week we’ve arranged for a trip to the Museum for the underclassmen, the senior’s midterms were an average score of 85.5, the toilet in the third floor girl’s room is stopped up and the plummer can’t get here until Tuesday, we abused three girls, and the meatloaf went over well for lunch”.
Oprah: “Great. Keep up the good work”.
How in the world would you categorize abuse under “daily event”? Usually, abuse is kept a secret. If other people who live right there in the school didn’t know about it, how the hell would Oprah?
