Hahaha - I thought there was a member called 'Unregistered'

I keep seeing ‘Unregistered’ in the ‘last post’ column in the board indices; I thought there was actually a user of that name, but it’s actually when you have that weird ‘you are not logged in’ business (it just happened to me in GQ and I returned to the board later thinking this ‘Unregistered’ guy had responded to my comment in a thread).

Is that what that is? Ah.

When I was a kid, I thought there was a city called “Business Dist” up north near where my grandma lived. As we drove through all the little burgs, there’d be signs with arrows:

Shawano
Bonduel
Business Dist

So I feel for you, man.

I’ve always felt so confused about City of Industry, CA.

From the FAQ

Oops, sorry Arnold, and thanks.

No need to apologize. I included the link as an indication that what you’re reporting is related to that portion of the FAQ.

Whoever this ‘Unregistered’ guy is, he knows how to hide his traces. I tried http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php?action=getinfo&username=Unregistered

What a slick person! But not slick enough for me. You can click on the ‘Unregistered’ name on the thread list page. The one after the bad meat thread leads to Mangetout’s profile!

Confess, you and that ‘Unregistered’ guy are one and the same person! Mangetout isn’t real. He’s Unregistered’s sock puppet!

And as if this isn’t bad enough, click on the name after the athlete’s foot thread and you get jb_farley’s profile! Don’t you all see what’s happening? Unregistered is trying to take over the entire board under different names!

 … Who am I talking to?
seriously…

I often have my cookies turned off and sometimes use the QRb on a page that was loaded when not being logged in. But I always click preview. I think the QRb only makes trouble when there appears ‘Unregistered’ and you directly click submit. Having the preview page in between should update the user name.

But then again, I never had double posts, either. But then again again, I am vegetarian.
