I was just looking at a thread where it said “unregistered” had posted last. When I went in the thread, the only person to have posted was I am Sparticus. I then went to the forum and the next thread down said it had also been posted in by I am Sparticus. But the original thread still said it was posted by “unregistered”.
I then clicked on “unregistered’s” profile, and it took me to I am Sparticus’ profile.
Hmm.

For the longest time I though there was a poster named Unregistered. I thought this until just now, when this happened to one of my posts.
Boy am I glad I searched ATMB and found this thread, instead of making a fool of myself and asking.
What a minute. . . .
And when it logs me out before I hit “Submit,” it just loses my post entirely. Go figure.
Actually what happened was I posted in quick reply and got the “you are not registered” message. I logged on from there then hit back a few times, posted that and Voila! Unregistered.
What exactly is going on in the Pit, though, where the front page says the last post in this thread was made by “Unregistered by name, unregistered by nature. I am” but then in the thread itself, it was made by savoir vivrette? Completely odd, and annoying, too, as it has messed with the formatting of the Pit’s front page.
I just refreshed and it’s gone now, but have a screenshot, somewhere.
Melandry, I just saw that. And when I clicked on the username, it said RTFirefly. I also sent him an email, thinking he’d been hacked or something. That just flipped me right the h-e-double toothpick out.
If I shouldn’t have emailed him, I apologize, but man, I was really not expecting to see a longtime user’s profile there.
Same thing happened to me when I hit “view new posts”.
Hopefully someone will kindly request Unregistered by name/nature to please shorten his/her name.

Well, I feel like an idiot, but it really rattled me. I wouldn’t even have checked the name at all if it had just said, “Unregistered”, because I knew that happens sometimes. But it was under a real username when I pulled up RT’s profile.
Coincidence, maybe?

Sometimes the last poster shown for the thread on the main forum page is not the same as the last poster that actually posted in the thread. It’s explained in the “technical issues” FAQ which I encourage everyone to read.
If there isn’t, there should be. That’s a great name.
