How drunk is someone who’s “half in the bag?”
Depends. Are they getting in or out of it?
I think it means they’re still ambulatory, but well and truly lubricated - typically to the point where they say dumb stuff.
I’d say more than tipsy, but not yet falling down.
Half drunk.
I thought it meant “half way to a body bag”, and as such, pretty damn drunk.
When half in the bag, one oughtn’t be driving, or trying to hold a meaningful conversation.
