I haven’t played in ages, so I’m trying to remember exactly how that bit worked…I have a vague memory that you’re not supposed to go through that window, that the crack only existed so that you could shoot an energy ball or somesuch through the opening and affect something on the other side. Yeah, I know, big help I am.
It’s been a bit since I’ve played as well. It looks like you’re in the Citadel. IIRC, you can grab energy balls with your grav gun and shoot them at receivers, which power bridges or other stuff. See if you can find a receiver dish around there.
Your second picture is of an energy ball receiver. Try grabbing one of the energy balls and shooting it at the receiver. IIRC, the floor under the receiver will open up and some kind of device will come up. You’ve got to do that 3 or 4 times at various locations to stop the core from exploding. Or something.
What muldoonthief said. There are big arm things that extend when you fill that big round green thing, and open a hole in the floor, IIRC. Might download it again tomorrow to figure it out.
The link goes to Chapter 2 Direct Intervention, which is where I think the broken window comes. If not you can navigate through the whole game from the menu on the left.
Looks like you’re stuck at the third stabilizer, no? The key here is to crawl out and look for the broken glass on the tube and grab the balls from the energy tube you crawled out of. I’m guessing you got this far and you’re wondering why it fizzled out?
Here’s a hint, did you notice that there was a shield guarding the pit the other two came out of after you activated them? Well, since this one has no power do you notice what’s NOT there? Go play mechanic under it, if you need more help just ask.
Edit: Oh! You’re stuck in the tube! There’s another door you can shoot off. I’ll be right back, gonna load my save there to give better directions.
That was quick, go back about 3 feet and you’ll see an alcove to the left (assuming you’re facing where the balls of doom are coming from), go into the (rather large) alcove, look at the center of the wall, and shoot your gravity gun.
I discovered it after I paid better attention. Thanks to all who reminded me that this is a well made game that I can’t recall trapping me in a glitch.
