I need a little Half-life 2 help

So I’m finally nearing the end of Half-life 2. (I wait till games are cheap before I buy them, and I suck)

So I’m in the “Our Benefactors” section. I road the ride and now I have the cool gravity gun.

Ok, So you lose your weapons but get the improved G-Gun. You go down the hall killing a few guards. That jerk is on the monitor talking. I power up the suit. I head away from the monitors towards a new set of guards. Go out over the walkway, down fight some more. cross over and go down a walkway through another set of guards.

Then there is another monitor with that guy talking. He shuts up and there are two hallways from there. One is just ot the left of that monitor. It is pretty short and there is a force field wall.

The other hall goes down and there is a guard rail that I can look over and see a room with a huge beam going up. (If you toss the monitor panel in it, the panel di8snetergrates real cool.

I can’t go any further.

I should also point out that my computer plays the game really dark. I’ve done everything to brighten the image and it’s still pretty dark. There have been many parts of the game that all I see is the gun sight and the barrel of my weapon.

So how do I get past these force fields.? I can’t find any genorators. Help.

Since it’s been a long time since I played, I fired it up again.
Luckily, you can start a new game at whatever chapter you want.

I played following your directions.

The rail you are talking about can be jumped over.
Then you’re in the room with the big beam thing.
Once you walk through that room, there is an elevator.
I really like the last level of Half-life 2. It’s sort of a reward for playing the whole game through I think. One level, where you really just get to kick a whole lot of ass without much chance of dying.

Humm…

For some reason, I can’t jump.

The space bar does nothing. Ii worked in all the other levels.
Grrrr…

I heard about this from a mate who suffered the same problem. He had to load up an old save point.
