It’s already January. Just start the playoffs already, seriously. I don’t care about a regular season now, because it isn’t a regular season. Give the Kings and Devils byes for being in the Finals last year and have a first round best-of-9 series. We can have the Cup awarded in March, which is when it should happen anyway.
There’s noreason this agreement could not have been reached eight months ago. It’s a disgrace and they should all be ashamed of themselves.
But the other side is full of big meanies.
I hope the deal is long term, like 7-10 years so we won’t have to go through this again too soon.
The question I have is how long do Fehr and Bettman keep their jobs after this. Fehr is gone pretty soon I would guess but Bettman, I have no idea. I read something that said the NHL has lost about 10% of its regular season games since he has been the comish.
It’s a 10 year deal with an opt out at 8. Hopefully Bettman is gone by the time this one expires. He’s an alum of my university, but that doesn’t change the fact that he sucks.

You’re correct we don’t brag about him. We have lots of other hockey claims to fame like Ken Dryden, Joe Nieuwendyk and many more that we much prefer to brag about.
