I can’t disagree, but I like the lead soprano (the one with the phone) better.
And random acts of music like this are always good, in my book. Even if you’re Ebenezic enough not to appreciate it, there’s nothing stopping you from just finishing your lunch and leaving. If you’re delayed, it’s because you wanted to be. And really, some unplanned delay every now and then isn’t all bad, either.
I’ll be in my first flash mob this coming Saturday, and yes, it’ll be the Hallelujah Chorus. It will involve hundreds of singers, from several choirs and choruses, in a wonderful location. I can’t wait!
Here it is! Wow, what an experience! I had trouble sticking to the Bass part, because I’m used to a TTBB version that we’ve done. But the guy next to me was singing Bass, so I just followed him. This was so much fun!
I was hoping, though, that the instrumentalists would also be live. We’ll have to arrange for that next year.
It was so special, doing it in a farmers’ market. While we were singing, I kept checking out the produce salespeople. They were truly bewildered . . . but a few of them were singing.
I would be too. I’ve been with so many groups that have performed this piece that I can sing the alto part from memory. It would be simply natural to join in.
Same here, only it’s the bass part in my case. I don’t think I could ever forget it.
I only stumbled across this video the other day, and have seen it numerous times since. The choir is superb–and yes, I also get a kick out of the janitor with the caution sign!
