This group claiming to comprise less than 1/3rd of 1% of the US thinks they can dictate advertising content for a television broadcaster trying to serve a nationwide audience?!? Perhaps they need to claim to be…I dunno…the ***Hundred **Million Moms Club *or something somehow impressive.

The number is already somewhat exaggerated.

I did some checking, they do amazingly well with Women 18-49 and Women 25-54. We know advertisers care less about seniors, so Hallmark made a terrible business decision bowing to the pressure in the first case.

Checking many sites, their viewership does skew old but it also brings in a lot of the primary target audience that advertisers love. I am surprised by the success of their cheesy movies.

Speaking of cheesy movies (the worst we can find), now that Netflix is putting the kibosh on MST3K, maybe the Hallmark Channel would be interested in torturing Jonah and the bots for a season or two…

Bigotry is not a political view. Being angry at seeing a commercial featuring a same sex couple is not a reaction to politics. A good sugarcoat might make bigots and otherwise fearful, hateful people feel better about themselves, but politics this ain’t.

Bigotry is a political sword and buckler. I use it (against the self-yclept “Right” all the time.

I would say that bigotry is politically related, but not actually political. A lot of people on the right are bigots, but a lot of fundamentalists are also bigots, so you could just as easily, and just as incorrectly, say that bigotry is a religious view.
