I went to the website for The Little Rascals; one item on the home page is that Hallmark Cards has bought up the Little Rascals/Our Gang videos and removed them from retail stores! This is worse than the urban legend that Bill Cosby bought them up.
Well, you can’t watch Little Rascals videos in Hallmark’s greeting cards…sounds like the company has a dog-in-the-manger attitude.
And your question is…
Gypsy: Tom, I don’t get you.
Tom Servo: Nobody does. I’m the wind, baby.
Oh, what the heck. Before moving this one to MPSIMS, here’s a link to the information in the OP. According to the site, Hallmark bought the video company that had rights to the Our Gang videos and has stopped distribution, at least for now.
In lieu of flowers, please make a post to MPSIMS.

Last weekend I went to a local video store, and saw the Our Gang videos, in the remastered configuration, now under Hallmark’s aegis. Same content, different label.
[righteous indignation]
I, for one, think it’s high time we stop the distribution of films that indoctrinate our children on how to form gangs. “Our Gang?!?” What’s the next series of videos? “Our Booze?” “Our Crack?” “Our Uzi?”
Start a petition! Write your Senators and Congressmen! Help us end the scourge of classic criminal film.
Thank you.

Next week: “Leave It To Beaver - Indecent TV”
[hijack]
Actually, it’s been done, sort of - The Beaver Papers - The Story of the “Lost Season” by Will Jacobs and Gerard Jones. The story of the threatened cancellation of the TV series and the valiant (and humorous) attempts to save the series by bringing in well-known literary figures to write the episodes. “The Brothers Cleaver” (Dostoevsky), “Waiting for Wally” (Beckett), “Beaver the Greek” (Kazantzakis), “Farewell, My Wallace” (Chandler), and my favorite, “Cries and Beaver” (Bergman). Out of print, but I stacked up a few copies. Well worth the read.
