Halloween Costume Ideas

Some suggestions from a seminary Halloween party:
1)Floppy dog ears and dog face makeup, halo, and barrel under the chin—St. Bernard
2)Bunny suit and halo—St. Peter of the Cottontail
3)Tophat and tails evening wear—Yves St. Laurent
4)Armor(or white robe and wings) with dragon hand puppet—St. George and you know who.

Thanks for the ideas, I just came back from the first Halloween party of the season. I found a mask at Target (pronounced tar-jay) that looked kinda like a medieval torturer’s mask. I thought I was a torturer but everyone else thought I was the gimp from Pulp Fiction, so I became the gimp.

Real good party though, except it was a combination med school-law school party and half the damn lawyers came dressed as doctors. How lame is that?

Diver

Yeah, well, most lawyers I know of have very little imagination.

Not including Drain Bead, of course. She rocks.

One of my co-workers will be wearing a cape with toy fish attached to it - she’s going as Cape Cod.

Very similar idea: Dress in pink, and attach a small chair to your head. (You can make one quickly using hot glue and foam available at any craft store.)

Other very simple ideas:

Dress in shades of brown, and cover yourself with Saran Wrap. You’re a leftover.

Go around your neighborhood and collect posters and flyers for bands, lost pets, etc. Tape them to yourself. You’re a telephone pole.

This was gonna be mine this year, but I have other stuff going on the next couple of days and have no need for a costume, so feel free to steal it. Go to any large pet store – PetSmart, PetCo, etc. – and get the largest available “dog neck cone.” They come flat; you just curl them around the dog’s neck and fasten it shut to make the cone. Then get a set of brown sweats (shirt and pants) and turn them inside out so they’re fuzzy. Then get one of those cheap rubber animal noses, y’know, that’s held on with elastic. Wear the nose and sweats, and put the cone on yourself, and voila, instant Funnel Dog.

Thank you, thank you. I’ll be here all week.
