Halloween: Resurrection - Does anything happen before the opening credits?

I saw Halloween: Resurrection this weekend (no need to feel sorry for me, I try to see everything), but I got to the theater a bit late and arrived during the opening credits.

From what I saw, the opening credits were all (nice and fancy) letters against a totally black background, not against some sort of establishing scene as in most movies. I’ve seen some movies, however, where there is some sort of opening scene before the credits, and I am just wondering if this was the case.

Do I need to get to some other movie a bit early to catch the very beginning of this one, or was there really nothing until after the credits ended?

For the record, I thought it was OK for what it was. They had what I thought was a clever way of setting up the situation, which is (and this is not really much of a spoiler, as if there could be a spoiler for this type of movie) that there is an internet reality show filming contestants going into Micheal Meyer’s childhood home, left untouched all these many years, for Halloween. The fact that they try to “scare” the contestants with a “fake” Micheal Meyers allows killings to go on before people realize the real Micheal Meyers has returned.

C’mon, guys!

I just read that this movie took in over $12 Million this weekend, so SOMEBODY must have seen it!

Is everyone else here too embarrassed to admit they watched it?

All I’m asking is if anything happened before the opening credits.

Anyone???

What’s the first scene you saw after the credits? If it wasn’t a homemade 60’s style family film that shows little Michael looking dark and brooding and both of his sisters are still alive then you missed about ten minutes. Let’s just say that Michael finally finishes what he set out to do 24 years ago.

Sorry, just checking to see if anyone said “someone steals $8 from you” yet.

Okay I saw thisa weekend to and i will tell you that micheal finally did what all of us horror fans have beenwaiting 23 years for he killed His sister laurie after we find out that she is in a looney bin for beheading a man wearing micheals famous mask and “baggy ass Jumpsuit” as the movie says

Thanks, Horseflesh;

The first scene I saw after the opening credits is in the “looney bin” (as Blueangel so quaintly puts it), so I guess I did miss something before the opening credits started.

Is it just the “60’s style family film” and nothing else?

If so, I suppose this provides some insight and “motivation” as to why he might be going after Laurie, but without giving away what may be the only real spoiler in the movie, as it turns out this really has nothing to do with the overall plot of the movie. So I guess I didn’t miss much…

Gads. And next up we have Blueangel starring in Halloween: Punctuation - “The night HE posted a reply”. :slight_smile:

If you saw Laurie Stroud plummet through the trees from the top of the mental institution then you saw the best part of the film. Of course, we don’t see her body after it hits, so that leaves her open for another one. Yes, the movie opened with the homemade film showing what looked like a family cookout. You saw Momma Myers, Big Sister, Laurie (why is her name Stroud again?) and Michael. Mike is standing right next to the house facing the wall (like that guy did at the end of Blair Witch) and keeps waving his hand backwards to shoo the cameraman away. He finally turns around and the camera zooms in on very dark and evil looking eyes. There was a 50’s style song playing much like “Mr. Sandman” (all female a capella group) played at the beginning of the first movie. Nice touch. I don’t remember what the song was.
