Halo 3 Thread

For those of us who love “Red Versus Blue”, here is an easter egg you can find:

Again, gentlemen, my Gamertag is I Dixon Tufar I

Add me if you wish.

I thought that, too.
The combination of the super-flood (big shamblers/runners/shooter morphing ones) and the bloody leapy resurrectors were a total PITA. If it had been a bit more like after the point you get Cortana back, it would have been better (in terms of both difficulty and linearity). Best combo for that part was the Covenant Carbine (for the shooting) and the Brute Shot (the blade on that and the Power Sword seemed like the only things that did decent damage to the super-flood).

But I did like the Gravemind-taunting/Cortana-going-insane messages. The Cortana voiceover bits were pretty haunting. And the Gravemind’s just creepy.

“Perhaps some small core of her remains. Cortana laughshivers

Anyone else get beamed the first time by that falling tower in the escape? And did anyone see the conversation in the Human base with the guy who’d forgotten the password?
Apparently, the two voices in thats scene are two of the creatores of RedvsBlue.com. A neat little easter egg, that.

Finished the campaign last night. One question about the very end:Is the Master Chief (“Demon!”) dead at the end? If so, how/when did he die?

I saw him last night. A guy I waspplaying co-op with ended the conversation with a carbide round in the back of the head.
Dick.
Ellis Dee, what difficulty did you do it on?

Did you hang tight through the credits for additional details?

I thought they sounded familiar. Was one of them Caboose? I need to go rewatch those.

If anyone paid attention to my post, I link to a youtube video of it.

Heroic. (One below the hardest.)

I’m not sure. The last thing I remember seeing was:The dedication of the hillside, with the Captain guy congratulating the Arbiter (“Traitor!”) for sticking around til the end.I don’t own the game, or even a gaming system. I play at a buddy’s house, and we’ll probably be doing multiplayer for the next forever, so I may not get a chance to try it again.

Thus, if anyone could spoil anything I missed, that would be great.

Yep, there’s more to it after the credits.
Master Chief and Cortana are still alive - but the ship they were on only got partly through the portal before it collapsed. The part of the ship they were on didn’t make it. So they’re left floating in space, somewhere outside the Milky Way, pretty much too far for any soon rescue. Master Chief goes into cryosleep (like he was at the beginning of 1 and 2), with Cortana staying around to watch out for anything. Master Chief says to wake him if he’s needed, Cortana says she’ll miss him.

In the Legendary ending… the wreckage they’re in drifts close to a planet. In a pretty damn cool graphical way.
If you’re online and need a third, let me know.

LOUNE we here are still trying to figure out if changing the NAT is even possible. I’m watching a thread over at Linkysis to see if is.

Please let us know if you figure it out. Thanks !!

LOUNE, your already on my friends list, lol.

If anyone wants to add me my gamertag is GamerBabe360

I’m looking for a couple people wanting to play through a couple of boards on legendary. I have them all done through Tsavo Highway. Oh and if you need help with any of the skulls or terminals, my husband knows where to get all that stuff.

Hubby was able to change our NAT settings to Open, but we have QWest and a router from them, so I’m pretty sure that it is different. But if you want the directions that I found for that, let me know, I can link ya.

Damnit! Halo 3 broke my 360. It gave me the ring of death. It’s going to get fixed but it is still going to take three to four weeks.

On a side note, thank Og Microsoft extended the warranty for the three red light issue. If not I would have been out another $300.

I’ve sent friendy request to LOUNE and MCUNE, so if you get one from shadeedge, that’d be me.

I feel your pain. I’ve had issues other than the “3 red lights” and (possibly foolishly) cracked mine open to blow off the dust that I deduced was gumming up my disk drive and fans. I was at least partially right. There was a lot of dust. But I also discovered a broken tab of plastic rattling around in my disk drive that had probably been knocking around and potentially causing problems ever since I’d picked it up off the shelf at CostCo.

A hardware-gifted co-worker of mine is currently trying to figure out what I did or did not do to it so that he can get it working again, since I blew through the warranty seal. So far the worst problems seem to be the laser being somewhat mis-adjusted and the belt driving the tray to open/close got stretched out somehow.

Probably a cool FPS…if it used mouse and keyboard. I can’t aim on a thumbstick.

That would be awesome. Can you linky me up thru PM? If not, my email’s in my profile.

Pretty lame, and short campaign. I was so bored by the end that I just ran through the final flood levels. Got killed maybe twice. The driving bit at the very end was fun but went on too long. This game felt like what it is: a multiplayer online fighting game with a campaign tacked on. Meh-riffic.
