Hamburger Survey (Vegetarians Welcome Too)

I’ve never liked the taste of any kind of cow or pig. So I’m at around ~0-1 burgers, I’ve had tiny bites to see if I liked it a couple times, never have.

The funny thing is, I’m completely not a vegetarian, I love fish and poultry, couldn’t go more than a few days without some sort of yummy meat.

I haven’t a clue… 10,000? More? Certainly not less…

Many cows have died to bring us these burgers…

My guess is about a thousand. That’s about 40 a year since I’ve had enough teeth to chew them properly.

Oh, about 500 meat hamburgers, I’d guess. My parents weren’t into fast food, but we occasionally had burgers at home. I had them at restaurants too.

I’ve been a vegetarian for five years now. I’m not what you would call an enthusiastic chef, so I eat Boca burgers all the freaking time. Maybe a couple hundred? I also like the Boca chicken patties. Yum. My favorite veggie fake meats are Morningstar Farms buffalo wings and sausage links, though. I could eat those wings all freaking day.

lessee… zero a week as an infink, one a week as a young child, two a week as an older child, and probably 4 a week throughout adulthood.

0 * 3 * 52 = 0
1 * 6 * 52 = 312
2 * 8 * 52 = 832
4 * 29 * 52 = 6032

add in another 200 for the above-mentioned “slider effect”, and I’m at 7376.

Bovine genocide, for sure.

Maybe 2 every 3 weeks for the 15 or so years I’ve been alive. So that’s very roughly

1552(3/2)=1170.

I have had exactly 1 buffalo burger in my life. It was pretty tasty. I want to eat another one.

Lessee, I had my first burger – veggie burger – at age 21. About a year later when I finally had my own kitchen, I started making my own at least once per week. So that’s at least once per week, sometimes two burgers at once, each week, for 22 years.

I’m going to say about 1,200 burgers, give or take.

I’m 25 & eat two burgers a month at most. I obviously haven’t been consuming burgers since I popped out of the womb, but I’ll use that calculation just to even things up a bit for months that were more burger-laden than others. So what’s that bring me to, then? Six hundred burgers over the course of my lifetime.

lesse, I’m going to assume 24 out of my 28 years were eligible for burger eating (since I don’t think little bitty kids eat too many burgers, but that could be a faulty assumption). I don’t eat too many burgers these days, but when I was younger I had them all the freaking time, so I’d say around 3 a week average, which makes about 3700 total burgers consumed. Although a few dozen were ostrich, buffalo, or turkey burgers.

What is a “Slider”?

i believe a slider is one of those little tiny white castle burgers

White Castle is a specific brand, but yeah. They’re called sliders because you can just about slide it straight into your stomach. I haven’t actually ever had one, myself.

How many? I have no clue. Thousands.

I prefer grilled to fried.

I’d happily eat more veggieburgers – I rather like them – if they were as cheap and easy to get as hamburgers.

Well, the 34-year-old is way off if they’ve truly averaged 2 a week over their lifetime. 34 (years) x 52 (weeks/year) x 2 = 3536. Or, if they actually eat exactly 2 burgers every week, I might drop it down to 3000 (age 18-34 is 2904, rounded up to the next thousand to account for the possibility that their parents let them eat a lot of burgers).

I’ll estimate my total at 2500, give or take.

I have had one veggie burger in a (veggie) restaurant and it was dreadful. Of McDonalds’ style meatburgers, I have a couple per year. Likewise home-made ones (Gyrate’s burgers are good). I probably had them more frequently at school, so call it 300 or so. Plus one.

According to my diary I’ve eaten 2,592. Thank God I use Access for my entries. Now where did I put my keys?

Hmmm…let me see…

21 years old…we’ll say I started eating burgers at age 4. Normally I’d say one per week, but my last thre years of college it was much less, I’d say 2 per month…lately a little more, maybe 2 per week…

so, let’s try math!

18-3 = 15 years @ 1/week = 780
18-21 = 3 years @ 2/month = 72
The last six months are 2/week = 52

Grand total is 904. I know there are times when I had multiple burgers and weeks with more and less, so I think about 1000 is a good guess. Not as many as I thought.

I thought it was because they slide right out.

I think you might have your math wrong sir. I did mine at an average of 2.5 a week since I was 6yo and came up with 3640burgers in my life. I am 34 as well.

This is a conservative estimate to say the least. probably more like 4640 burgers I would guess.

Forgot to add. It kind of make me wonder how much does the average cow weigh?
