Onion, bacon, cheddar (or bleu cheese), jalapeños, chili.
Blue cheese, bacon, and maybe sauteed mushrooms if I feel like the kitchen won’t eff up a sauteed mushroom.
61 replies and no mention of blue cheese? Really?
Lettuce
tomato
avocado
onion (both raw and cooked)
tomato sauce
salt
and maybe beetroot.
Depends on where I’m getting it.
Burger King - Whopper Jr. with extra cheese, extra pickles, no lettuce.
McDonald’s - BigMac with no lettuce, extra cheese and sauce.
Regular Restaurant that doesn’t have sucky burgers - double cheese only. Or a Patty Melt with double cheese. I love them.
Home - double cheese. That’s it.
Beef, bun, lettuce, melted cheddar cheese slice, blue cheese dressing. *swoon
Cheese (sharp cheddar preferred)
Bacon (the crisper, the better)
Barbecue sauce
Lettuce, if it’s the “green” part and not shredded; I’ll settle for spinach (yes, I have had my share of Popeye-burgers)
What? No Miracle Whip? I’ll use mayo if necessary; but there’s nothing like the tangy zip of Miracle Whip Salad Dressing.
Ketchup, relish (which is somehow never available in restaurants), cheese, bacon. Sometimes tomato & black olives.
My preferred burger from the top down:
top bun
mayo/mustard blended
pickle
tomato
lettuce
beef patty
ketchup
bottom bun
If cheese is to be included it goes between the lettuce and the beef patty.
Dang - now I’m hungry.
I’ll eat mayo if it’s on there, but don’t go out of my way to add it. The rest are fair game, plus hot peppers.
Pineapple, beetroot, egg, onions, tomato sauce, bacon, lettuce, tomato and pepper is what you need to make a great Aussie burger!
I guess we don’t “speak-a your language.”
Yeah, beetroot. Bleargh. On anything. Except borscht.
And when you say pepper, I take it you mean chilis?
On a burger at a restaurant (other than the old Bearden’s) …Burger, mustard, cheese (preferably cheddar) and MAYBE some lettuce.
On a burger made at home…burger, cream cheese, onions, mustard, and American cheese (opt).
Fat Burger and Red Robin let you put a Fried egg on them, which is really good. When I make my own burgers at home I put a fried egg on them now as well.
No I mean cracked pepper.
Yeah I knew I would get everyone’s attention with the beetroot and pineapple, a very strange and aussie tradition.
Ah, black pepper
I like all listed in the poll, plus cheese (Swiss especially, but provolone also–I’ll take the fake wrapped stuff if that’s all we have), bacon, peppers (hot banana or jalapenos), dill pickles and cracked black pepper. Not all these toppings all the time on a single burger necessarily, but certainly I like all of 'em, and probably other toppings I can’t think of at the moment.
Other:
Cheese
Jalapenos
Bacon
Crisped pepperoni
Fried egg
Provolone
Sliced banana
Maple syrup
^ Those are what I don’t like.
Basically anything else should do.
