Hamburgers: what do you like on em

Just thought it’d be a good summer-y thread

I’m very flexible but at a minimum it’s gotta have ketchup and lots of it.

At home: Mayo (on bread); Mayo, lettuce, tomato on a toasted bun.

Out: Mayonnaise, cheese, lettuce, pickles.

Nice additions from time to time: Avocado, jalapeños, bacon, fried egg, cheese.

Just about anything except ketchup.

Back when Woodstock Bar/White Rabbit Restaurant was in the Nana Plaza red-light playground (motto: Three Floors of Whores), they offered a Mad Hatter Burger that had everything but the kitchen sink in it. Half-pound paddy, smoky links, ham, bacon, egg, cheeses, all stacked really high. I could eat one of those and be full for 24 hours, I kid you not.

I enjoy pickles, jalapenos, and/or pepperoncinis on my burger, along with mustard and onion.

 What is wrong w/you people??

Almost everything and anything at different times. Sometimes, I like just mayo, other times I crave thousand island dressing. Add mushrooms, bacon, grilled onions. The list is long actually.

And sometimes just by itself. Hamburger is my favorite beef.

A mix of ketchup and mayo as a sauce, a bit of mustard, pickles, grilled onions, crisp bacon. As with hot dogs, it’s a spur of the moment type of thing.

Bacon, ketchup, mustard, onions, pickles, and jalapenos.

No tomato, no pickle, otherwise, I’m flexible, except that mustard can’t go on it alone (paired with either ketchup or mayo–which can go on solo–fine, but mustard can’t go solo).

Also, cheese.

Depends on whether I’m cooking them or I’m buying them. If they’re being grilled up at home, then it’s likely there is relish, onion, shredded lettuce and a touch of mustard on the burger. Then I’ll dip it in the ketchup I have out for the fries.

My favorite burgers from restaurants (In-N-Out, The Hat) usually have some sort of 1000 Island on them, which is good too.

Cheese, bacon, mustard, onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato.

Where the hell is the cheese and bacon???

This is a really incomplete list of toppings. For me:

pickles
cheese
bacon
special sauce I make myself, OR if out, just mustard and ketchup

Onions at #1? Never saw that coming.

This, although I can take or leave the tomato. (I’ll often eat about half the burger, then pick off the rest of the tomato.)

Garden Fresh Tomato, Mayo, onion and egg roll. Divine!

Lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, bacon, cheese.

For “restaurant” burguers I’ll normally do nothing or add mayo
When we make’em at home it’s “golf sauce” (mayo-ketchup mix) + mustard, and tomatoes, avocado, and (a Peruvian thing) matchstick fries.

Ketchup, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and sharp cheddar. Sometimes bacon.

If it comes with tomato, pickles or lettuce, I pick them out and eat them separately.

The ideal burger: grilled, with swiss cheese, sweet onion, lettuce and a smear of mayo on the bun.

On a burger cooked inside, substitute American cheese for the swiss, and add bacon.
