Handmade wooden cane from Washington or Oregon

This is a real long shot, but here goes.

A friend of mine was given as a gift about 10 years ago a handmade wooden walking cane that was made by a craftsman in Washington or Oregon. He lost it last week. :frowning:

The cane was absolutely plain, not in any way ornate–no hidden sword or flask or anything like that. It was similar to this. There was a narrow brass band around the shaft near the top, but otherwise no other decoration. The shaft was plain, not rough like a tree or twisted or carved… just straight and plain.

We’ve been searching the internet, but don’t really have much to go on. So I’m hoping someone in the Pacific Northwest might know of this craftsman. Dopers get around. Thanks.

Are you trying to find a similar cane, or one made by the exact same person?

We’re trying first to find that particular craftsman. My friend has a similar cane that he made himself. But he was quite attached to the cane he lost.
