Handsomest TV dad?

Tim Daly (as Mr. Madam Secretary on Madam Secretary).

Charlie Hunnam (on Sons of Anarchy) is tied for second place with Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Supernatural).

Damian Lewis (on Billions) is on the list, too.

This. Too bad he was so in the closet he could see Narnia.

Don loves his kids, to be sure. I’d say he was terrible because

he let his womanizing destroy his marriages, thus jeopardizing his relationship with his kids. I’m sure Sally finding out about his cheating on Megan gave her a lot of trust issues in the future.

Likewise he loved both his wives, but

again not enough to quit womanizing. He supported Megan’s career choices (even if reluctantly) even though he hated it.

I am a straight male…but that is one handsome man.

Speaking of Blue Bloods what about Donnie Wahlberg? Not only damn good looking, but a loving husband, good father, has a dangerous job and just steals every scene he’s in, including ones with Selleck.

…is the right answer. It’s not really a fair fight, though. Jon Hamm is basically a Disney prince made flesh.

TriPolar’s answer of Ricky Ricardo’s pretty good too, and while I haven’t seen the show Tim Daly’s on now, I would never hesitate about putting him on any “best-looking” list. Rowr.

I thought we weren’t doing couples in this thread…

Another vote for Dick Van Dyke. Not stereotypical leading man looks (that’d be Jon Hamm*), but the quick mind and sense of humor is much more attractive.
*or McSteamy, or the dad from The Nanny…

Andrew Lincoln…Rick Grimes from The Walking dead.

It’s hard to beat Tom Selleck.

Mike Brady is my answer.

(So many people mentioned Tom Selleck - was Magnum P. I. a father?)

He was, just like Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

So was Darrin II.

Ward is the first TV dad I thought of, even though sometimes he might have been a little hard on The Beaver.

That joke is so old, I fell off my dinosaur laughing the first time I heard it!

Jaime Lannister.

I believe Magnum had a daughter (or perhaps a step daughter) with his French wife who wasn’t really dead; but more likely the mentions of Tom Selleck as a father are in reference to his current role as Frank Reagan on Blue Bloods.

Gosh darn all you 1999ers with your condescending, vast knowledge of all things trivial! This is the answer *I *was going to give until your magic 1999er eight ball instructed you to steal it from my mind.

This just furthers my belief that ALL the 1999ers are secret moderators, reading our posts, looking for keywords of online terrorism like “troll” and taking notes for future operations against us.

Beware!

Robert Urich. Followed by Robert Urich, Robert Urich, Robert Urich… did Patrick Swayze ever play a TV dad? If not, then position number five goes to Robert Urich…

I’ll drop the Robert Urich crush I’ve had since 7th grade on the day I die.

Bill Bixby as Tom Corbett on “The Courtship of Eddie’s Father”
