You may have missed it, but when he reached 9999 posts, he stayed there for a very long time - weeks, IIRC. He simply stopped posting. So, he has shown that he can do it.

handy can be helpful in his area of expertise. That fact should not be in dispute. I can be helpful in my area also. I have learned over time that expertise in one area does not translate into expertise in other areas; in fact I can be quite dangerous if I act like it does.
For example, one rather credulous individual, overwhelmed by my near god-like ability to help him control his high blood pressure asks me for investment advice. If my ego dampers and uncertainty intensifiers had not been running at optimal strength, I might have been inclined to give said advice. Fortunately they were, so I merely reply “If I was good at that stuff, do you think I’d be working here?” and tell him to bend over to get his prostate checked. (Another principle: Never do a prostate exam in anger)
