I hope they film an ending.
Not surprised to hear that. This season has been shit so far. Hope it picks up before the end.
I shudder to think what item will be chosen by the fans to be mailed to NBC as a part of the inevitable “Save Hannibal” campaign. There are so many deeply disturbing possibilities. I’m kind of hoping that – in reference to one of Lecter’s most well-known meals – it’s fava beans. Liver’s a bit of a mess to transport, and Chianti is too spendy to expect a lot of people to send in, but fava beans would be very doable. Maybe a census taker who is a huge fan of the show could deliver some.
That was how I felt about the first two episodes this season. ![]()
Then I turned off my brain and stopped wondering about pertinent things like: What happened in the last 8 months since the end of season 2? Where is Jack? Did Alana survive? Where is the frickin’ plot!? Etc.
I had a much better time of it by the third episode. Your experience may be different, that’s cool. ![]()
I’ve liked all 3 episodes of the new season.
Man, the most recent episode (ep. 4, “Aperitivo”) was brutal! We find out what the other characters have been up to since the end of last season. Without getting spoiler-y, pretty much all of them are horribly broken in one way or another.
Almost made me regret so desperately wanting to know what had happened to everyone just a couple episodes ago! Be careful what you wish for, indeed.
I’m not hating the episodes, but they are reminding me of experimental time-stretched music pieces. (Like having a digital two-minute version of “Flight of the Bumblebee” played so that its duration is ten hours.)
A whole season of that would be hard to take. But perhaps the coming episodes will be a little more plot-packed.
It is rather strange. I wonder how much Thomas Harris got from them. Changing the ending of the last film pretty well screwed more movies being made.
Since it has been canceled, I wonder if they will film an end, or just leave us with the cliff hanger for the non existent season four.

dammit.*
Good questions. In addition: I’m wondering if the fact that NBC made this announcement so early in season 3 means anything. Is it that NBC plans to burn off the remaining episodes (by, perhaps, running them all in the middle of the night)? Or is this a tactic to give the show’s fans a chance to make clear that they would follow the show even if it’s picked up by a lower-budget channel (SyFy, maybe?)
You no doubt refer to the wrestling channel.
Indeed. (And I join you in the eye-rolling. But, let’s face it, Syfy wouldn’t balk at picking up a show just because it had no science fiction elements–they’d be fine with that. Or they would be, as long as Fuller promised to include a bit of wrestling or the occasional flying shark, in future episodes…)
I haven’t seen the most recent episode yet, but so far this season has been way slower and way more up-its-own-ass pretentious than the previous 2 seasons. Not really digging this new direction at the moment but I have faith it’ll improve.
Also, am I the only one who just can’t stand Bedelia? What a mopey cow!
She is pretty well messed up, to use a psychological term.
I would also be happy if they began running new Hannibal episodes.
Using the DVR, I would not have to watch the last few minutes of wrestling. ![]()
I knew that investigator was toast once he went to claim the fingerprint. He had no shot.
Good for jack for winning round 2 with Hannibal. I love that Hannibal only survived due to hanging on to the body.
Very good episode.
Loved it! Finally some plot movement, and Hannibal gets knocked off his perfect pedestal.
What did the woman tell Will? About how she met Hannibal in the train?
The scene with Inspector Pazzi was word for word how it was in the film Hannibal, though they had Alana stand in for Clarice.
Why do the credits at the beginning say “Based on characters in the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris” but make no mention of the novel Hannibal, where Pazzi and the whole Florence stuff is from?
Also, why did they cast someone as the Asian woman with Will Graham who looks like she’s in her early thirties and then expect us to believe she cared for Hannibal when he was a child?
According to Wikipedia:
Every season has been worse than the one before it. And this season I have no idea what the hell is going on.
They are taking vague actions and characters from the books, and are attempting to make money with them.
