Happy and Cute and Funny, Oh My!

Today has been a bad day. My morning has in fact, been horrible.

So to make myself feel better I am requesting any and all amusing stories, jokes, links, etc. that any other dopers may have available.

So come on people, make with the happy!

I have a happy and cute and funny:

Saturday I went to an indoor soccer game. At halftime they brought out a little girls soccer team to play on the field. Girls were like 5-8 years old. Real young.

At MLS outdoor games most people don’t pay much attention to the kids at halftime. They put multiple groups on the field with multiple nets and it’s chaos. This was a smaller stadium, and they let them have the whole field.

But these girls were managing to keep a lot of people’s attention. Not that many people seemed to leave for the bathrooms.

One side started moving the ball to the goal, kicked it and the goalkeeper fell on the ball.
There was a modest cheer.

The other side got the ball and a girl started moving, keeping the ball just away from the others.

Now, the men run across the field in no time at all. This girl may have been 6. She’s running…

and running … and running … it’s taking her forever to get across the field. Others are pretty close to her - trying to get the ball.

The other side didn’t put a goalkeeper out - the goal’s wide open. She get a few feet away from the other kids and kicks a rather slow ball into the open net …

And the entire stadium erupts for her! Everyone cheers and yells and whoops! As loud as people were cheering for the main game.

Quite a good feeling all around.
Hope it helps.

My dog Jasmine loves me. I got home considerably later than my husband the other day. She stays outside in the daytime, and when he let her in, she ran all over the house looking for me. Then, she laid down on her bed to wait for me, and when I got home, she came running to me like she was afraid I was never coming home. Awwww!

One of the google ads at the bottom of this thread reads:

I would think that would wear your ass out.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWW. I’m not having a bad day and it helped ME.

So far this has been very helpful!

I know that when I get home tonight and open my book and get settled in to read for a bit and my kitties climb all over me, curl up in my lap, and try to help me turn the pages by biting them for me the cuteness overload will be more than enough to make up for the badness, but it is a few hours until it is time to be pummelled by kitties so it is nice to have other people sharing their cute and funny things!

Deaf Karaoke always cheers me right up.

Oooh, cuteoverload.com. Next time you need some cute and happy and fun.

Today is our wedding anniversary, but we are too injured to go out. He hurt his back, and I seem to have a broken finger.

So our three-year-old son almost tackled my husband when he came home, and announced, “My butt stinks. Happy anniversary!”

What a lovely gift.
