It’s only 9pm here in Hawaii, but where it matters, it’s officially his birthday!
Happy birthday, dear friend!

Happy birthday, dear friend!
Rob! looks like you’re another year old(how old?) and definitely none the wiser!
Well, congrats to you sir, go out and whoop it up for me! Do it in GaWdLy style!
-Sam
Happy Birthday I will spare you my singing.
Happy Birthday
Thanks Audrey. Yeah, actually when you posted this I was sleeping! Yeah, I know, I don’t usually do it at night, but it happens once in a while.
GaWd, thanks. Yep, definitely none the wiser, as this is my 19th birthday and I plan on going out to the bars (probably). Ya see, I’m 19 today. And here in Canada (at least where I am) that’s the legal drinking age. So even if I don’t go out to the bars, I’m picking up a 26 of Jamieson’s Irish whiskey, and making my friends do shots with me at home.
Bluemonchichi, you could never spare me your singing, as I am sure you have a beautiful singing voice.
And thanks Tisme.
Happy Birthday!
Enjoy, because sometime in the far distant future you will cease to view birthdays as a good thing.
Hope this is a good one!
Scotti
Happy birthday. Can I have that last corner with all the frosting?
Happy Birthday, silent_rob!! Here’s to many more!
Happy birthday to silent_rob,
who talks much more than SILENT-BOB.
(Ok, yeah, my birthday rhymes are lame. If I was actually goodat it, I’d work for Hallmark.)
Thanks for the b-day wishes, all. Actually, Scotticher, I wasn’t looking forward to today. Ya see, for the last few years my birthday has been cursed. I have been challenged to a fight by a gang member (in a restaurant) and I even had my windows broken with explosives, while I was in the driver’s seat! I know, it sounds like the mad ramblings of a drinker, but it’s true.
Actually, I had surprisingly little to drink tonight. I had a few fishbowls with Monkey’s Lunches in them. Now, I usually have whiskey, so at least then I know how much alcohol I’ve consumed. But with girly-drinks (which reminds me of a Kid in the Hall skit) I jsut couldn’t guesstimate as well. Oh well, it’s wearing off. At least I’m in no danger of losing my Monkey’s Lunch.
anomaly, I suppose you could. 'cept, I had a round cake, so you’re going to have a hard time.
Silver_Fire, thank you very much. Also, thanks for the nod on your “Want to meet” list. The feeling’s mutual, I assure you.
MysterEcks, your poetry is divine,
Like a champagne, or a superb vintage wine.
(alls I can come up with in this condition)
Wow. Thanks! Hope you had a great day! September first, eh? My nephew turned 3 today!
No, he turned 3 yesterday. I really need some sleep!
Sorry. Thought I’d post again, now that I feel a little better.
Another Sept. 1 birthday, Silver_Fire. Right on! I hope your nephew had a truly rocking party.
I hope I made ya proud, Gawd. I know, it wasn’t Irish Whiskey, but wait until this weekend.
And once again, thanks Audrey. I originally thought it was going to be a really crappy b-day (after what has happened on my other b-days; already mentioned). And even though it wasn’t in the end, this really cheered me up. Thanks.
You’re so welcome, dear. ::hug::
So did you get plastered, or what?
Uhhhh, yeah. You can probably tell because of how much later this post is than my last ones. I fell asleep on the couch and just woke up. I got fairly plastered drinking girly drinks (Monkey’s Lunches with chocolate milk). I didn’t realise I was far gone until it was too late. I usually stick to Irish whiskey, but my friends said it was a tastey drink. Well, it was. It was like drinking Iced Tea, I just keeped asking for more. Then, all of the sudden, I couldn’t make coherent sentences. I realised that there had been a wee bit more alcohol in those drinks than I had thought. Luckily, I didn’t have to drive. Sooo…
But now, I’m doing much better. Ready for another bout with the bottle. Though, I don’t really feel like it right now. Maybe later, after I have some left-over cake.
Wow, dude. I thought I was living dangerously on my birthday when I had a couple rum and Cokes.
Of course, I was risking hives…
Send over some cake!

You’re a bit odd, Rob. I like that in a person.
That’s good. Please also remember that I wrote that right after finishing a few alcoholic beverages. But, it’s true, I am a bit odd.
And Audrey, hives? Do you break out from alcohol consumption? And I would send over some cake, but I don’t think the ice-cream cake (from DQ) would make the journey.
Happy b’day, silent_rob!
Gotta watch those girly drinks; they’re specifically designed to taste sweet, silly and harmless. Just a couple and you’re laughing; a few more and everyone is a friend; a few more and you depart for a meaningful interlude with the Sixth Fleet (who are all your newfound soulmates).
Glad you had fun, did it safely and found your way back to your couch. And your computer, and us, your REAL friends of the SDMB. Most of whom live near a Baskin-Robbins, which honors gift certificates for ice-cream cakes.
:::blinks hopefully:::
(One of these days this pitiful schtick may work!)
Happy 19th, friend!
Veb
Good thing I didn’t go that far. I think I’ll stick with the Jamieson’s Irish Whiskey from now on.
No…musn’t give in…will-power crumbling…about to send gift…
Wait a minute. I just remembered that there’s no Baskin-Robbins around here.
Nice try Veb, your wiley tricks nearly worked on me. And thanks for the B-day wishes. It’s not a pitiful schtick, really. It just…needs a little work, is all.
