Happy dance in my fancy pants...

… is what my friend Jennifer would say every time we went swing dancing. Well, I went out to the Boston scene for the first time ever, and let me tell you, it was fan-freakin-tastic. I’ve been having a rough month and wasn’t really looking forward to going out, but I was guilted into leaving my dorm, and I’m sooo glad. It’s… I don’t know what it is. Do you ever just have one of the moments where, in the midst of chaos, everything feels right? That’s how I felt this evening. I danced a bit, I watched in awe as others danced, I got oodles of hugs, I met neat-o people. It’s all shades of crazy. Oh, and I saw a shooting star when we were walking to the car. Beautiful. For the moment, I’m rather high on life, and I felt compelled to share it with all of you. Hope everything is well in your corner of the world.

Rock on, Serendipity. I know exactly what you mean. A friend of mine in college made me dance with her once when I was in the throes of a profound and chronic funk, and for about fifteen minutes, I was carefree and happy (scoff not, they were fifteen very valuable minutes, the way my year was going). It’s like the folks say: Free your ass, and your mind will follow.

This is officially my new favorite phrase!
