As I get ready to prepare the meat for tonight’s festive dinner, I just wanted to give a Shana Tova shout-out to my fellow Members of the Tribe.
5776 started out with health problems for me and ended with health problems for my mother-in-law. Luckily my health is greatly improved, and my MIL is home from the hospital and should be ok. I’m looking forward to a great year!
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 5777!

I forgot to add that the Goodyear Blimp was in Toronto this week. My 8 year old was convinced that it was here for Rosh Hashana for a “good year”
L’shana tova! We’re in the middle of a kitchen renovation so first the first time in ages I’m not cooking a holiday meal.
The kids are popping home from college and we’ll have challah, apples, and honey and then to diner for a family meal. We’re all together for the first time since my youngest left for college this year, so the food doesn’t matter (as much!).
L’shana tova to all. I’m single and not planning any celebration. I’ll light candles and that will be it.
If I’ve majorly pissed off or offended any Dopers during the past year, I request your forgiveness. (It’s customary to set things right with people during the High Holidays).
Gmar chasima tova. I’ve been invited out for all meals but am still running around getting things set in my apartment. 20 minutes to licht bentchen!
A happy Rosh Hashanah/Feast of Trumpets to all who observe it.
Gut yuntif! And if I’ve done anything in the past year to offend anyone, I offer my apologies.
The same to all of you, even if I am not observant. My wife made a Tsimmes with a giant matzoh ball. Delish!
I had last week off for vacation. Since I work in a store owned by observant Jewish people, I get today and tomorrow off, and two days off next week. Life is good.
A happy Rosh Hashanah/Feast of Trumpets to all who observe it.
“I’m spending Channukah
In Santa Monica,
And Rosh Hashana
In Santa Ana.”
Tom Lehrer, I think. What? Someone was bound to mention it.
