Happy Hogswatch!

Hope the Hogfather brings lots of sausages for all you Pratchett fans!

Happy Hogswatch to you too, HDS. Anyone else hear the noise of pigs hitting the roof during the night?

I heard hogbells jingling. And I awoke to a lovely blood pudding in my stocking.

“Cower, brief mortals!!!”

Oops, I mean

“Happy Hogswatch, all!”

Happy Hogswatch all!

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but I think Hogswatch-Night is on December 31. slowlybacksoutofthread

Cite?

How does the calendar work on a turtle anyway? Not to mention all the magical field slowing down light…

Well, according to Hogfather it’s the last day of the year, but it’s also the shortest day of the year, so presumably Hogswatch is the winter solstice and the new year starts the next day.

I wish I had the funds to get sausages for Hogswatch…

Heh. My parents sent us one of those multi-item food packages, which included two sausages. It also had some cheese and other goodies in it, but they don’t read Pratchett, so they don’t know that this means something else to me.

They’re beef sausages, though, more’s the pity. I prefer pork sausages.

But are they innabun?

Okay, you’re right. Winter solstice makes sense. I apologize. Well then, happy (belated) Hogswatch, folks!

Actually, I did have sausage for Hogwatch breakfast. Good stuff too.

Happy Hogwatch everybody!

Sausages are also traditional for Ground Hog Day, February 2.
