Three days ago, while visiting Chicago, I took my teen son to an improv theater event — just a small venue on the North Side.
in their routines, the performers casually made references to Chicago cultural items past and present, including “The [Weekly] Reader.” For me, it evoked sweet memories of living in Chicago in the late 80s and early 90s…including, of course, the Perfect Master’s column.
